  • Patent number: 6070206
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for terminating a SCSI bus having a SCSI port, with the SCSI port having a first set of I/O terminals associated only with wide SCSI buses and a second set of I/O terminals associated with both wide SCSI buses and narrow SCSI buses. The method includes the steps of determining if a first reference signal is present on one terminal of the first set of I/O terminals; determining if a second reference signal is present on one terminal of the second set of I/O terminals; and terminating each terminal of the first set of I/O terminals while not terminating any terminals of the second set of I/O terminals (1) if the first reference signal is not detected in the first reference signal determining step, and (2) if the second reference signal is detected in the second reference signal determining step.

  • Patent number: 5480840
Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-chip module having multiple compartments. Circuitry is arranged on a substrate in such a manner that circuit components requiring specific operating environments are located in discrete areas dedicated to accommodate the circuit components. A cover, having multiple chambers that align with the discrete areas on the substrate, is secured to the substrate to define the multiple compartments. The compartments are separated by material that effectively isolates the compartments relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 4680622
Abstract: An apparatus and its method having a first input for receiving a video signal, and a second input for receiving a computer generated graphics signal. A proportioning circuit is included which algebraically adds a portion of the signal from one input, and an inversely proportional portion of the signal from the other input. The algebraically added signal portions are provided for video display. The apparatus may include a voltage limiting circuit for limiting the combined voltage of the added signal portions to less than a set level.

  • Patent number: 4631588
Abstract: An apparatus, and its method, for overlaying a computer display on a video signal, having a video signal receiving circuit, a sync strip circuit connected to said video signal receiving circuit for stripping the sync pulses from the video signal, and a display control circuit for generating display control pulses. A phase locked loop circuit is provided for locking the display control pulses in phase with sync pulses stripped from the video signal when the video signal is present, and for controlling the display control means to generate display control pulses at a selected rate when the video signal is absent. A vertical drive pulse generating circuit generates vertical drive pulses in phase with selected ones of the sync pulses stripped from the video signal when the video signal is present, and generates vertical drive pulses after a set number of generated display control pulses when the video signal is absent.
