  • Patent number: 8136879
Abstract: A seat cover for an rowing machine seat has a top for overlying the top of the seat and a skirt extending downward from, and running lengthwise along the length of the perimeter of the seat cover top. A cord that is spaced below the top piece runs along the length of the skirt and has a first end that protrudes from one of confronting lengthwise ends of the skirt and a second end that protrudes from the other of the confronting lengthwise ends of the skirt. The cord allows that skirt to be drawn around the seat for holding the seat cover in place on the seat. An open-top pocket hangs from the seat cover at a location along the perimeter of the seat other than the location at which the opposite lengthwise ends of the skirt are in confrontation. An electrically powered personal device, such as a battery-operated entertainment device, can be placed in the pocket for use by a user of the rowing machine.

  • Publication number: 20070126203
Abstract: A releasable riser plate assembly is provided for use with a telemark binding. The assembly is mounted to a ski. The assembly includes a base plate interconnecting a front and rear housing, and a release plate mounted over the base plate. Force transmitting members are integrated in the housings to hold the release plate. A toe adapter of the telemark binding is mounted on the release plate. The toe of a ski boot is secured in the toe adapter. Adequate force generated by the boot in either a lateral direction or vertical direction results in disengagement of the release plate from the base plate and housings. Accordingly, the boot separates from the ski. The assembly incorporates a ski brake. The ski brake activates upon separation of the release plate.

  • Publication number: 20050242658
Abstract: The present disclosure includes a bicycle wheel having a hub, a plurality of spokes, and a rim. The spokes are connected to the hub, each spoke having two ends and a major axis. The ends of each spoke are substantially aligned with the major axis of such spoke. The rim provides a plurality of fixed spoke mounts secured to the spokes. The spoke mounts provide stress grading, in one preferred embodiment by decreasing in section as they extend away from the main body of the rim toward the hub. The spoke mounts are formed integrally with the rim and avoid the use of holes through the wall of the rim that seats the tube. Spoke adjustment mechanisms for straight spokes attached to such spoke mounts are also provided. The disclosure also includes a method of constructing a wheel.

  • Publication number: 20050178551
Abstract: The invention discloses methods of, as well as apparatus and systems for, perforating and treating multiple intervals of one or more subterranean formations intersected by a wellbore by deploying within said wellbore a bottom-hole assembly (“BHA”) having a perforating device and a sealing mechanism, wherein pressure communication is established between the portions of the wellbore above and below the sealing mechanism. The BHA is positioned within the wellbore such that the sealing mechanism, when actuated, establishes a hydraulic seal in the wellbore to positively force fluid to enter the perforations corresponding to the interval to be treated. A treating fluid is pumped down the wellbore and into the perforations created in the perforated interval. The sealing mechanism is released, and the steps are repeated for as many intervals as desired, without having to remove the BHA from said wellbore.
