  • Patent number: 6571968
Abstract: A rack for hanging workpieces in industrial coating systems having a horizontal bar or beam with a first flange, a second flange, and a web joining those flanges, wherein the first flange has a hook receiving aperture and the second flange has a hook receiving slot. The aperture and the slot are aligned to receive a hook from which a workpiece may be hung. The hook is bent to form a spring having a terminal leg and a depending leg. The terminal leg extends into the aperture in the first flange and the depending leg extends through the slot in the second flange, behind a detent. The web is formed so as to providee a fulcrum against which the spring bears, biasing the depending leg against release from behind the detent.

  • Patent number: 6189709
Abstract: A rack for hanging workpieces in industrial coating systems having a horizontal bar or beam with an upper flange, a lower flange, and a web joining those flanges, wherein the upper flange has a hook receiving aperture, and the flow flange has a hook receiving slot. The aperture and the slot are aligned to receive a hook from which a workpiece may be hung. The hook is bent near its upper end to form a spring with a terminal leg and a depending leg. The end of the terminal leg extends into the aperture in the upper flange, and the depending leg extends through the slot in the lower flange, behind a detent. The force of the spring biases the depending leg against release from behind the detent.

  • Patent number: 5524774
Abstract: A rack for transporting workpieces through electrostatic coating operations. The rack includes a pair of vertically extending, rectangularly cylindrical hollow tubes having apertures formed in their front sides. A support hook has a workpiece engaging portion, offset portions extending from either end of the workpiece engaging portion, and contact portions extending from the ends of the offset portions, with each adjacent portion of the support hook extending perpendicularly to its adjacent portion. The support hook is manually engageable with the tubes by insertion of the contact portions of the hook into the apertures of the respective tubes. The hook is cantilevered to the tubes, with the workpiece engaging portion spaced from the tubes. The tubes shield their interior surfaces and the contact portions of the support hook disposed in their interiors from the sprayed particulate.

  • Patent number: 5147050
Abstract: Disclosed is a support rack for transporting workpieces through electrostatic coating operations. The support rack includes hollow, horizontally mounted crossbars having open ends into which support hooks formed of bent rod stock are detachably engaged. The support hooks include a workpiece engaging portion upon which workpieces are supported and a crossbar engaging portion which engages with a crossbar. Each crossbar includes inwardly extending indentations in proximity with the open ends which engage with a complementary bend formed in the crossbar engaging portion of the support hook to secure the support hook within the crossbar.
