  • Patent number: 4039569
Abstract: A continuous process for producing high-purity methyl chloroformate, by reacting liquid methanol with an excess of phosgene at no more than 20.degree. C., preferably about 15.degree. C. Phosgene is absorbed in a large circulating load of pre-formed chloroformate that has also methanol added to it. The product stream is treated to remove light ends, and a 98% pure product results.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 11, 1976
Date of Patent: August 2, 1977
    Assignee: Minerec Corporation
Inventors: Fred S. Bell, III, Ronald D. Crozier, Lawrence Evans Strow
  • Patent number: 4036746
Abstract: The quality of dialkyl dithiophosphates as flotation promoters is improved by addition to the neutralized acid of small quantities of a trialkyl amine. More important, promoters thus stabilized exhibit markedly increased storage life and substantially no tendency to corrode steel. Shipping and storage of these products is thus facilitated.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 22, 1976
Date of Patent: July 19, 1977
    Assignee: Minerec Corporation
Inventors: Lawrence Evans Strow, Franklin Anderson Bolth
  • Patent number: 3975264
Abstract: High-purity dialkyl thionocarbamates are economically produced by reacting suitable xanthates with alkyl amines in the presence of a dissolved catalyst. Nickel and palladium salts are preferred catalysts. Thionocarbamates produced by the method of the invention are a desirable flotation reagent for certain refractory copper sulfide ores.
