  • Publication number: 20120095815
Abstract: A system and method for advertising wherein a communication from a sending party to a receiving party includes one or more advertisements. The communication maybe an email sent from a sending party to a receiving party, wherein the email includes an advertisement for a product or service used by the sending party. Such advertisement could include a “testimonial” from the sending party, who's credibility is established with the receiving party. The advertisement is included in the email message of the sending party as a result of an election made by the sending party during installation of the software program. The advertisements can be structured in a multi-level marketing type organization. including trusted and credible reporting systems to account for each participant's advertising efforts.

  • Patent number: 8041604
Abstract: A system and method for advertising wherein a communication from a sending party to a receiving party includes one or more advertisements. Such communication could include one or more of an email, a voice mail, a voice communication (i.e. a telephone call or internet based telephony communication), a facsimile message, a pager message, or any other suitable electronic communication. In a preferred embodiment, the communication is an email sent from a sending party to a receiving party, wherein the email includes an advertisement for a product or service used by the sending party. Such advertisement could include a “testimonial” from the sending party, who's credibility is established with the receiving party. In another preferred embodiment, the advertisement could be for a software program installed and operated on a computer system used by the sending party.

  • Patent number: 7462485
Abstract: The present invention provides modified erythrocytes which comprise viral receptor proteins capable of mediating entry of respective viruses into the modified erythrocytes. The present invention also provides methods of using the modified erythrocytes for the treatment or prevention of viral infections. In one embodiment, the modified erythrocytes of the present invention comprise CD4 and at least one HIV coreceptor, such as CXCR4 or CCR5. The modified erythrocytes, when administered to an HIV patient, bind to the plasma virus and induce the injection of the HIV ribonucleoprotein complex into the cells. The entrapped viral content is either degraded or deactivated within the erythrocytes, or destroyed by erythrophagocytosis.

  • Publication number: 20040052343
Abstract: A telecommunications system installation and management device and method for managing, controlling, updating and monitoring telecommunications devices, such as a private branch exchange telephone switch, voice messaging system, call accounting system, central office telephone switch, router, bridge, hub, or associated peripheral telecommunications equipment. The device is capable of managing and controlling a plurality of different types of telecommunications equipment provided by various different manufacturers to thereby seamlessly integrate the equipment into an easily managed telecommunications system. A local database within the telecommunications system provides for real-time or near real-time access and modification of programming information for the telecommunications equipment and further provides for redundancy in the event that the telecommunications equipment should fail.

  • Publication number: 20040001805
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of conferring viral immunity and/or reversing viral pathogenesis via strategic genomic integration of a genetically engineered replication incompetent vDNA composition, i.e., a theravirus. The invention is generally effectuated by administering to a host a therapeutic amount of genetically engineered viral DNA (vDNA) composition in an amount sufficient to out-compete the natural pathogenic vDNA's ability to integrate into the host cells genome. The genetically engineered vDNA construct is genetically altered in a manner that effectively prevents post integration transcription of the composition. The invention is effective in the prevention and treatment of viral infections, including, HIV (AIDS), herpes and hepatitis.

  • Publication number: 20030170886
Abstract: Alterations to a host cell protein form a set of specific alterations which may be deployed to then limit a trial and error process in order to arrive at an Anti-Protein targeted to a host cell protein. The invention dictates regulation of monomers, multimers, oligomeric subunits and oligomers, or proteins by changing their form and function sufficiently, to yield a new set of interaction rules which closely resemble the rules followed by naturally occurring monomers, multimers, oligomeric subunits oligomers and proteins. This Anti-Protein contains highly specific alterations, which render the ultimate presence and sufficient concentration of these compositions to yield predictably different interaction, structure and function for the cell and which incorporate the necessary coding for transcription, translation and sufficient concentrated production for these Anti-Proteins, to enable regulation of a particular cellular function, such as viral replication.

  • Patent number: 6375995
Abstract: A consumer cereal product including at least first and second portions, the first portion having a specific gravity less than a liquid, such as milk, so that it floats in the liquid, and the second portion having a specific gravity greater than that liquid so that it sinks therein. Alternatively, cereal is provided having a specific gravity less than a liquid so that the cereal floats, and a portion is coated with a soluble substance having a density sufficient to cause that portion to sink. As the coating dissolves, the coated portion becomes more buoyant and rises to the top of the liquid. In a further embodiment, cereal is provided wherein each piece of cereal has a specific gravity low enough to float in a liquid and includes a first and second portion, the first portion having a higher density than the second portion so that the cereal piece floats with the lower density portion to the top.

  • Patent number: 6194011
Abstract: A food container, of the type having a quantity of food vacuum-packed within a body of the container with a closure affixed on an open end of the body of the container, is provided with a low cost improvement for facilitating removal of the closure from the body of the container in the form of a vent opening extending through a wall of the closure overlying the open end of the container and a flexible film strip, a portion of which is sealed to said wall around an area overlying said vent opening. A portion of the film strip which overlies the vent opening is designed to be released from closure wall for equalizing the pressure within the container with that external thereto by pulling up on an unsecured end portion of the film strip. Furthermore, after releasing of the vacuum in the container, the film strip is able to be re-adhered over the vent opening.

  • Patent number: 5911593
Abstract: A terminal for connecting electrical conductors which cleaves the electrical conductor as it is connected to the terminal without the use of an additional tool. The terminal includes at least one support post having a slot for receiving an electrical conductor, wherein the electrical conductor is lodged in the slot to create an electrical connection between the conductor and the support post. As the electrical conductor is lodged in the slot, the conductor is cleaved on one side of the slot during the same motion by the installer of lodging the conductor in the slot. The terminal also includes a pivotal tab connected to the slot which may be moved by the hands of an installer to release the connection between the conductor and the slot to allow easy removal and replacement of the conductor. The terminal allows electrical conductors to be installed, cleaved, and removed by the hands of an installer without the use of any tools.
