Patent number: 10338896Abstract: Methods and systems herein employ graphical elements as a coding basis within a development platform to develop Web applications that access and aggregate real-time data of connected devices. The development platform includes testing and development functions to simplify the development of mashup web applications. In one aspect, the platform causes updates of the client-side applications, and the real-time data to be received at each test device with a save action of the development workspace. In another aspect, the platform inserts code to enable caching operations at the client-side applications, based on associative linking of the graphical objects during development. In another aspect, the platform employs multiple-level hierarchical real-time data to enable the client-side applications to maintain client-side cursors of the last presentation state of the data upon an update of the applications.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2015Date of Patent: July 2, 2019Assignee: PTC Inc.Inventors: Philip J. Patent number: 6737979Abstract: The invention comprises a micromechanical shock sensor that is formed on the surface of a micro-substrate. A moveable proof mass is formed on the surface with at least one spring connected to the proof mass and the surface. The spring allows the proof mass to move a predetermined distance. Latching means are formed on the surface the predetermined distance from the proof mass. When the sensor is subjected to a sufficient shock, the proof mass moves and contacts the latching means. An indicator means is provided to allow this contact to be readily known by the user.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2001Date of Patent: May 18, 2004Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Gabriel L. Smith, Lawrence Fan, Ralph E. Balestrieri, Daniel L. Jean

Patent number: 6308631Abstract: A micromechanical device that takes a vertical force to a micro substrate that results into a vertical motion and translates that vertical motion into horizontal motion. A pit is etched onto a micro substrate where the walls of the pit meet the floor of the pit at less than a 90° angle. A vertical force is applied to a structure to push it along the angled wall of the pit and as the structure reaches the bottom of the pit the vertical motion is translated into horizontal motion. By attaching a spring or similar mechanism to the structure, one can store the horizontal momentum for later use by latching the structure in some way before the spring can pull the structure back into its original position.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2000Date of Patent: October 30, 2001Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Gabriel L. Smith, Lawrence Fan
