  • Patent number: 9031820
Abstract: A method of modelling a hydrocarbon-containing reservoir which is representative of such reservoir in at least one physical characteristic such as reservoir porosity or permeability. Data, such as reservoir porosity is firstly determined. Such data is then transformed into printing instructions for a 3D printer. The 3D printer is used to print a reduced-scale model which is representative of the reservoir in respect of the at least one physical characteristic, such as reservoir porosity. A method of comparative testing of different hydrocarbon recovery techniques on a single hydrocarbon-containing reservoir is also disclosed and claimed.

  • Patent number: 7358884
Abstract: A self-contained DAC that is especially suitable for use as an IP core, particularly for SOC (System on Chip) implementation. Techniques are applied to employ certain circuits (such as arithmetic element 302) to perform multiple functions in the DAC, thereby resulting in space saving. Techniques are also applied to employ fewer circuits per functional block to achieve further space saving. By employing multiple clock domains and turning on selective circuits on an as-needed basis, power saving is also realized.

  • Patent number: 6980924
Abstract: Weighing apparatus, which includes one or more loadbars 11 and a weight indicator 10. Communication between the loadbars 11 and the indicator 10 is via a wireless communication. The indicator 10 includes a receiver 12 and data from the loadbar 11 is transmitted to the receiver 12 via transmitter 24. A sealed power source module 16 is connected to the loadbars 11 or one power source module 16 is connected to each loadbar 11. The transmitter 24 can be incorporated in the power source 16.

  • Patent number: 6581575
Abstract: The invention is directed to a fuel delivery valving and hosing system comprising a fuel source coupled to a regulator, a regulator coupled to a hose; a hose coupled to an automatic shut off valve, a hose coupled to a manual shut off valve, a hose coupled to T-junction, a hose from the T-junction coupled to a low RPM valve, a hose from the low RPM valve coupled to a second T-junction, the second T-junction coupled to a preset high RPM run valve and a hose from second T-junction coupled back to a high RPM run valve and to complete a loop. A hose from the preset high RPM flow-limiting valve goes to an injector, and the injector is coupled to an engine/power plant at the carburetor, carburetor insulator or manifold. The present invention will be highly efficient at regulating and controlling gaseous fuels supplied to the engine and produce cleaner emissions.

  • Patent number: 5887177
Abstract: A power management scheme for the sound system of a computer is flexible, low-cost, and effective, both to minimize power consumption and to avoid any attendant audio artifacts. More particularly, a mix of relatively simple hardware functions are manipulated by host computer software to change the power management state of an audio codes. Because changing the audio codec power management state can cause annoying artifacts to be coupled to the audio outputs, circuitry is provided to preclude these artifacts, switched in concert with the power control circuitry. The rate at which the audio codec's internal analog reference voltage equilibrates when power is applied or removed is controlled. This prevents coupling of a step to the audio outputs, which otherwise would make a large "pop." The rate at which the analog output capacitors are charged when power is applied is also controlled, preventing a "pop" from being coupled to the analog outputs.

  • Patent number: 3934803
Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable bag distending and supporting apparatus for holding a bag, such as a plastic leaf collector or trash collector, with the receiving end thereof in open position essentially perpendicular to a horizontal surface, thus to permit leaves and trash to be raked or swept into the interior of the bag. The device is characterized by a support mechanism which holds the receiving end of the bag against tilting without requiring the use of stakes or spikes embedded in the ground, the support apparatus in addition functioning at least partially to extend the bag in a lengthwise direction to facilitate filling. The device is further characterized by being constructed of inexpensive components which may be readily assembled by the user, thus reducing the bulk of the apparatus in shipping.
