  • Patent number: 5571868
Abstract: Ethylene, alpha-olefin, non-conjugated bicyclic diene elastomeric polymers and/or polymer blends when compounded and formed into a calendered sheet, show surprising improvements for the combination in both green strength and peel adhesion in the unvulcanized state. Such green strength and peel adhesion provide benefits during calendering operations and subsequent joining of calendered sheets, while the compounded elastomeric polymers are in their green or unvulcanized state.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 15, 1995
Date of Patent: November 5, 1996
    Assignee: Exxon Chemical Patents Inc.
Inventors: Sudhin Datta, Periagaram S. Ravishankar, Lawrence G. Kaufman
  • Patent number: 4895897
Abstract: Aromatic carbonate compositions having improved impact properties comprising an aromatic carbonate resin and a functionalized elastomeric polymer that is the reaction product of an ethylene elastomer having reactive polar groups and an oxazoline functionalized polystyrene are disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 13, 1989
Date of Patent: January 23, 1990
    Assignee: Exxon Chemical Patents Inc.
    Inventor: Lawrence G. Kaufman
  • Patent number: 4873275
Abstract: Paving binders, especially hot mix paving structures, may be modified to have both storage stability and increased creep resistance by the addition of copolymers of ethylene with vinyl acetate or lower alkyl esters of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid to the asphalt used in said binder, provided the asphalt has an asphaltene content of about 7 wt. % or less.
