  • Patent number: 4597710
Abstract: Improvements are described for the type of trash collection apparatus mounted on a side-loading trash collection vehicle of the type in which a container carriage moves up and down on vertical guide rails. The improvements comprise providing pairs of guide rails on each side of the carriage with one set of guide rails being entirely vertical and the other set of guide rails having upper end portions which are curved towards the receptacle into which the container is dumped. An improved apparatus for slowing the speed of and stopping the carriage at the end of its upper travel to ensure proper orientation of the carriage wheels during return of the carriage to the ground position is also described.

  • Patent number: 4155444
Abstract: A slat link for endless conveyor belts for heavy materials handling has a central transverse reinforcing beam and slat link covers surrounding the transverse reinforcing beam which converge to either side of the beam at a point intermediate the vertical distance between the top and bottom portions of the beam. Material loaded on top of the conveyor slat links contacts the higher portion of the slat link at the portion of the slat link where the beam is located, the beam acting to distribute the shock from the material loaded thereon along its links and to transmit such shock loadings to the conveyor support structure which absorbs the shock.

  • Patent number: 4128166
Abstract: An endless belt conveyor for heavy materials handling is provided in which shock forces generated by the loading of heavy objects onto the conveyor are absorbed in the vertical, longitudinal and lateral directions with respect to the conveyor by resilient suspension means such as a plurality of rubber shear spring blocks which are associated with the support structure for the track upon which the conveyor belt moves. The belt is comprised of slat links having a central transverse reinforcing beam and slat link covers surrounding the transverse reinforcing beam which converge to either side of the beam at a point intermediate the vertical distance between the top and bottom portions of the beam.

  • Patent number: 3970190
Abstract: A steel slatted conveyor belt wherein the slats are supported by a pair of conventional roller chains moving on a supporting track and the impact and longitudinal loadings on the slats are transmitted longitudinally by an additional set of slat side links, the ends of which overlap and are pivoted relative to each other by the roller chain shafts. The conveyor slats are Z shaped in transverse cross-section and are rigidly fixed to the slat side links.
