In one embodiment, an exemplary method includes training a plurality of conventional neural networks (CNNs) with a training set of images, wherein the images include original images and images modified by an adversarial attack; after training of the plurality of conventional neural networks, providing an input image to the plurality of conventional neural networks, wherein the input image has been modified by an adversarial attack; receiving a probability output for the input image from each of the plurality of conventional neural networks; producing an ensemble probability output for the input image by combining the probability outputs from each of the plurality of conventional neural networks; and labeling the input image as belonging to one of the one or more categories based on the ensemble probability output.

    Abstract: Bootstrapped semantic preprocessing techniques for medical datasets such as whole slide histopathology image datasets can be used to more efficiently and effectively train artificial intelligence used for medical purposes. The bootstrapped semantic preprocessing techniques generally include deriving metrics from image features and adjusting images according to the metrics. This process can be repeated iteratively for unknown and unlabeled data using a bootstrapping technique to normalize unknown samples to the training dataset distribution.

    Abstract: Provided is a reversing valve for reversing flow in a refrigeration system. The reversing valve includes a valve body having first, second, third, and fourth ports disposed into the valve body. A valve member inside the valve body can be selectively moved between a first position intersecting the second and third ports and a second position intersecting the second and fourth ports. The valve member defines a channel that directs flow between the selected pairs of ports. The channel is generally shaped as a curve that bends the flow between the selected ports. To reduce the pressure drop across the reversing valve, a flow splitter is included that divides the channel into multiple sub-channels. Dividing the channel into multiple sub-channels increases the curve ratio of the channel, which reduces the generation of turbulent secondary flows in the channel. The flow splitter also provides additional structural support to the valve member.

    Abstract: A pilot valve assembly includes a mounting bracket having at least three sides, including an anchor panel extending between first and second generally parallel leg panels. A four-sided mounting bracket, having a top leg panel connecting distal ends of the first and second leg panels is also disclosed. Disposed through the first leg panel and preferably through the second leg panel are respectively first and second apertures which define an axis line. A solenoid coil having a central bore is placed between the leg panels such that the central bore is aligned with the axis line. A pilot valve body is inserted through the first aperture and into the central bore such that an end of the pilot valve body is adjacent the second leg panel and secured thereto by various methods. The mounting bracket can be made from a single, integral blank.

    Abstract: A new and improved device and system for abating accidental release of a sporting implement such as a baseball bat from a player's hand following a swing is provided. The hand held sporting implement includes a longitudinally extending shaft having a far end, a near end and a gripping area adjacent to the near end. The device includes an elongated strap having two ends for connecting to the shaft of the hand held sporting implement. A first end of the strap is configured to engage the hand held sporting implement at the near end thereof. A second end of the strap is configured to engage the hand held sporting implement at a point along the shaft thereof. The strap also includes a mid-portion extending between the first and second ends. The strap is positioned with a 180° twist relative to the hand held sporting implement.

    Abstract: A valve for controlling a flow of pressurized abrasive particles to a machine includes a valve body that defines a particle chamber having an inlet port and an exit orifice. A tapered valve seat surrounds the exit orifice. A shaft having a nose piece is positioned within the particle chamber. The shaft is movable between a closed position, where the nose piece engages the valve seat so that particles cannot pass through the exit orifice, and an open position, where particles are free to flow out of the exit orifice. A flexible barrier surrounds the shaft and separates the particle chamber from the actuating mechanism to prevent abrasive particles from damaging the actuating mechanism. A clean chamber is positioned between the shaft actuating mechanism and the barrier and is pressurized to a pressure generally equal to that of the particle chamber to prevent damage to the barrier.
