Patent number: 8857738Abstract: A device (10) for selectively dispensing ones of multiple fluids, preferably cleaning agents, is disclosed. The device includes a reservoir (50) and a container assembly (100) that can include at least one container body (105, 110, 112, 114, 116). The reservoir (50) houses a diluent “D,” for example, water, and each container body houses a concentrate “C,” for example, a concentrated form of a cleaning agent. Each container body has an outlet assembly (200) with a nozzle (260), so that container assemblies (100) with multiple container bodies correspondingly include multiple nozzles (260). The diluent “D” and concentrates “C” are kept separate from each other, whereby ho end use product is stored in the device (10). Rather, end use product is mixed on demand during dispensation, as part of the, dispensing act. Namely, diluent “D” is pumped through an outlet assembly (200), drawing concentrate “C” thereinto which mixes into the end use product while exiting the device (10).Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2008Date of Patent: October 14, 2014Assignee: S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc.Inventors: Jeremy F. Knopow, Jeffrey L. Crull, Lawrence J. Fenske, Cunjiang Cheng

Patent number: 8777065Abstract: A container for use with a handheld fluid dispenser is provided. The container may include a container body having interconnected walls that define an inside space therebetween and in which liquid contents are held. An opening may extend through the container body and permit access to the liquid contents in the container body. A cap may engage the container body and be aligned with the opening of the container body. The cap may include a rim that defines an outer portion of the cap. A neck may be arranged concentrically within the rim, the neck including a bore that extends longitudinally through the neck and is aligned with the opening of the container body. A recess that has an annular shape may be defined between the rim and the neck of the cap.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2012Date of Patent: July 15, 2014Assignee: S.C. Patent number: 8777037Abstract: A device 10 for selectively dispensing ones of multiple fluids, preferably cleaning agents, is disclosed. The device includes a reservoir 50 that holds a diluent “D” therein and a housing 20 that includes a main body segment 22 and a head segment 26. A container assembly 100 may be held between the main body and head segments 22, 26. The container assembly may include at least one container body 105, 110, 112, 114, 116. Each container body 105, 110, 112, 114, 116 houses a concentrate “C,” for example, a concentrated form of a cleaning or other agent therein. The diluent “D” and concentrates “C” are kept separate from each other, whereby no end use product is stored in the device 10. Instead, end use product is mixed on demand during dispensation.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2010Date of Patent: July 15, 2014Assignee: S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc.Inventors: Jeremy F. Knopow, Jeffrey L. Publication number: 20080267689Abstract: Disclosed are liquid applicators for dispensing liquid to a surface such as a bathroom wall, and working the liquid against the surface. The applicators may have a compressible reservoir for the cleaning liquid. Upon compressing the reservoir the liquid is driven to a scrubbing pad in a controlled fashion. A check valve prevents back flow to the reservoir from the pad. A blister pack can house the scrubbing pad even when the pad is attached to the reservoir. In another form the applicator can be tipped and rested on its side between uses.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2007Publication date: October 30, 2008Inventors: Douglas A. Soller, Michael J. Banco, Lawrence J. Fenske, Min-Ki Bang

Patent number: 7182739Abstract: Therapy patches are disclosed which are designed to deliver vibration and heat (or cold) to human skin so as to provide muscle relief. These patches have a chemical pouch that generates heat or cold upon initiation. They also have a motor and battery to provide a vibration source. Forms of the invention have an adhesive so that the patch can be attached to the skin (and thus need not be manually held in place during use). Kits are also provided in which the motor and battery can be used with a string of linked, severable replacement pouches. Methods of using these patches are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2005Date of Patent: February 27, 2007Assignee: S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc.Inventors: Robert J. Kopanic, Daniel G. Lee, Pamela J. Taylor, Jeffrey L. Harwig, Lawrence J. Fenske, Evan A. Sparks, Miles William Noel Hember, Charles F. Kilby, Jaime R. Allen

Patent number: 5988435Abstract: A manually operable fluid dispensing system having a fluid dispenser connected to a fluid source by flexible tubing. The dispensing system provides a supply fluid path from the source of fluid to the dispenser and a recirculation fluid path from the dispenser to the source of fluid. A dispenser mount is rigidly attached to a support surface for releasably holding the dispenser, and the dispenser mount supports the dispenser in a fixed position for dispensing fluid therefrom. In addition, the dispenser can be removed from the mount for dispensing fluid at a remote location. A manually operable trigger is pivotally connected to the dispensing valve and has a quiescent position which closes the dispensing valve. When in the quiescent position, a trigger handle extends over an exterior portion of the dispenser body in a generally forward direction toward the dispensing outlet and forms an included angle with the dispenser body.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 1997Date of Patent: November 23, 1999Assignee: Barnstead/Thermolyne CorporationInventors: James R. Edwards, Chester E. Chomka, Lawrence J. Fenske, Kerry W. Leppert, Charles T. Nachtman

Patent number: 5823487Abstract: An articulated support assembly for a computer keyboard. The assembly includes a generally U shaped rigid support member, and a platform for supporting the keyboard pivotably mounted on a central portion of the support member. Projecting end portions of the support member are pivotably mounted on attachment members fixed to the bottom of a table or desk top. A releasable friction clutch restricts pivotal movement of the platform around the central portion of the support member. A releasable ratchet assembly prevents revolving movement of the central portion toward a lowered position relative to the attachment members. A switching mechanism can be manually activated to release the ratchet assemblies and the friction clutch so that the position and orientation of the platform relative to the table or desk top can be adjusted.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1996Date of Patent: October 20, 1998Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Kenneth J.
