  • Publication number: 20160204587
Abstract: A raintight compression connector has a connector body with first and second portions and a bore extending therethrough for connection to a conduit. An upper sealing ring is dimensioned to contact the connector body to make sealing contact with a conduit. The upper sealing ring has first, second and third regions. The first region has a first sloping surface to contact a recess shoulder in the connector body and the third region has a third sloping surface to contact an inner surface of the connector body. Specific slopes for these sloping surfaces are disclosed. The upper sealing ring can also be used in a raintight compression coupler.

  • Patent number: 9373919
Abstract: An adjustable electrical connector for connecting to cable or conduit by a strap adjustment member has a body with a hollow cylindrical section and an extension member. The hollow cylindrical section has a slot and a threaded bore passing therethrough. The slot allows passage of a stop plate, and the threaded bore receives an adjustment screw. The connector has an insulator having a bushing at one end to be inserted into the hollow cylindrical section of the body, and a curved member attached to the hollow cylindrical bushing, the stop plate extending radially outward from the curved member, the stop plate movable by the adjustment screw between a minimum deflection and a maximum deflection to stop the sheath of the cable.

  • Patent number: 9343883
Abstract: A raintight compression connector has a connector body with first and second portions and a bore extending therethrough. The first portion is dimensioned for receipt of an EMT or RMC conduit. A gland nut threads onto the first portion and a split compression ring contacts the gland nut so as to secure the connector body to the conduit. An upper sealing ring makes sealing contact with the conduit; and a wedge-shaped sealing ring is positioned in the bore of first portion against a shoulder formed in the first portion. The sealing ring contacts a terminating face of the conduit so as to pliably deform around the face so as to form a watertight seal. The second portion is securable to an enclosure. A coupler with two portions similar to the first portion of the connector has corresponding components to form a watertight seal with two conduits.

  • Patent number: 9257795
Abstract: A push-type grounding bushing has an electrically conductive body having a first end, a second end, a bore formed therethrough, and an intermediate shoulder stop to contact an end of a conduit. The bushing has with a locking device gripping tabs forming a helix so that the conduit can be pushed and held in the locking device and removed by rotating the conduit relative to the body. A throat insulator is placed into the second end of the body and has a flange to cover the second end. An electrically conducting lug is secured to the body and has a recess or bore for receipt of at least one electrical conductor to ground the bushing while a fastener mechanically and electrically secures the conductor to the lug.

  • Patent number: 9012791
Abstract: A split, non-metallic electrical insulating bushing for placement on a terminating end of an electrical conduit, the bushing rotatable between a first open configuration and a second closed configuration and having first and second hemispherically shaped bushing portions. Both bushing portions have a first end and a second end. The first ends are dimensioned to rotate with respect to each other. The second end of the first bushing portion has a projecting clasp member with a hook portion, while the second end of the second bushing portion has a recess dimensioned for receipt of the projecting clasp member. The clasp member is angled relative to the recess so that the hook portion contacts the second bushing portion so as to align the first and second bushing portions as the clasp member enters the recess. The hook portion then extends through the recess to secure the bushing in its closed configuration.
