  • Patent number: 4291931
Abstract: A system is provided for disconnecting a retained electrical connector on a missile launcher, from a launched connector on the missile, as the missile begins moving during launch, which is simple, reliable, and reusable. The retained connector, which is supported by a parallogram linkage to cause automatic retraction during launch, is initially fastened to the launched connector by a bolt. The bolt is automatically released during launch by the initial retraction of a sleeve on the retained connector which releases a split threaded collet on the mating connector to allow the collet to open and release from the bolt.

  • Patent number: 4220387
Abstract: A medical terminal clip is disclosed, particularly for use in connecting a lead wire or conductor to an electrode conventionally secured to the skin surface of a human or animal. The electrode comprises a male projection of the buttontype with an enlarged diameter head portion disposed within a recessed area of the electrode. The clip is generally V or wishbone shaped and includes a pair of support arms secured together at one end and normally spaced from each other at the other end. The arms carry resilient conductive loops normally biased out of overlapping condition but movable upon the application of external force into an overlapped condition wherein the clip may be applied over the head portion of the electrode. The support arms have offset depending shoulder portions from which the conductive loops extend and which are positionable within the recessed area of the electrode when the arms are moved toward each other.

  • Patent number: 4200348
Abstract: A medical clip, particularly for connecting a lead conductor to an electrode conventionally secured to the skin surface of an animal or human, and which electrode typically comprises a male projection of the button-type; the clip being of a generally V or wishbone configuration, the arms of which carry resilient wire loops normally biased out of overlapping condition but movable upon the application of external force into an overlapped condition wherein the clip may be applied over said button onto said electrode. The clip is provided with means preventing accidental contact with the male electrode when the clip is in position thereon, and with means preventing undesired tilting of the clip thereby minimizing inadvertent and unintentional disassembly of the clip from the electrode.

  • Patent number: 4195893
Abstract: A method and assembly are disclosed for terminating a plurality of signal and ground or shield conductors of a ribbon cable. The assembly includes a contact plate having a plurality of termination tabs each joined to a carrier strip and a ground member. The active signal conductors of the cable are electrically connected to each of the tabs while the ground conductors are connected to the ground member. The terminated cable is then insert molded in an integral dielectric housing, leaving only the carrier strip and portions of the termination tabs and ground member exposed. The carrier strip is then severed from the connector, thereby electrically isolating the termination tabs from each other and the ground member. The resulting connector is mechanically and electrically reliable and may be interfaced with compatible electrical components without damage to the individual terminations.

  • Patent number: 4131330
Abstract: A mounting device for electrical connectors is molded in one piece to provide functions of supporting longitudinally elongated electrical connectors of a first type, for supporting electrical connector units of a second type having contact members arranged for gang connection, and for housing electrical wiring therebetween. The one-piece device includes a raised rectangular mounting platform. The mounting platform includes integral formed upper and lower sections. The upper section includes means for supporting the connectors of the first type and means for defining a protective housing for wiring to the first type connectors and for protecting the wiring from abrasion from and contact with a building wall. The lower transverse side is open to permit the wiring to extend toward the lower section. An indented pocket, contains a key hole aperture to facilitate engagement with a mounting bolt on the building wall.

  • Patent number: 4097104
Abstract: An electrical connection system is disclosed for connecting two cable conductors to a thin metal plate. The system includes a contact member on the metal plate and a cable connector connected to the dual conductor cable. The contact member has a tunnel section with contact pillars retained therein. The contact pillars have staple-like attachment arms which extend outwardly from the tunnel section, through the metal plate, and are bent back against the metal plate to secure the contact member in place and in electrical contact with the plate. A cable connector having electrical contact members is received and positively supported within the tunnel portion of the contact member. The contact members of the connector engage the contact pillars to complete the connection.
