  • Patent number: 4435107
Abstract: The traffic delineator assembly of the present invention is comprised of a elongated resiliently flexible delineator member, an anchor post, and a rigid pilot plate. The pilot plate is attached at the upper end of the anchor post and the lower end of the flexible delineator member is attached to the pilot plate with its lower edge lying adjacent the lower edge of the pilot plate so that when the anchor post and pilot plate are driven into the ground or road surface, the bottom end of the delineator member follows the bottom edge of the pilot plate into the surface.

  • Patent number: 4343394
Abstract: Apparatus for pumping or conveying fluent material such as grain, sand, concrete, etc. is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a tube having an inlet at one end and an outlet spaced from the inlet and a pair of helical blades of opposite pitch mounted inside the tube for rotation relative to one another. One blade is mounted to a shaft extending axially inside the tube, and the other blade is mounted to the inside of the tube. The blades are interrupted at diametrical locations to enable the blades to move relative to one another as the shaft rotates relative to the tube for conveying fluent material. Preferably, the assembly is mounted with its inlet in a hopper and its tube disposed upright to afford vertical conveyance of the fluent material through substantial distances.

  • Patent number: 4298075
Abstract: A drive means is provided for driving into a roadway surface a traffic delineator assembly of the type which includes a channel shaped anchor post having a pair of outwardly extending flanges, the upper end of the channel being connected to a solid pilot plate.A lower surface of the drive means is positionable on the top of the anchor post and a pair of legs depend from the lower surface to straddle the channel and locate between the flanges of the anchor post and the pilot plate. An upper surface is provided as a striking surface for driving by manual means e.g., a sledgehammer. An adaptor is provided to link the upper end of the drive means with an impact type drive tool.

  • Patent number: 4190118
Abstract: A drive cap is disclosed for use in driving structural posts of the type which may be employed in roadside sign post structures wherein the posts have lateral generally coplanar flanges interconnected by an offset web, and wherein the posts may have different major and minor transverse axis dimensions. The drive cap comprises a drive block having a recess therein adapted to receive either of several different size structural posts in closely fitting relation therewith so as to facilitate driving of the posts longitudinally into the ground, the drive cap being adapted for cooperation with an impact type power tool for use in driving the posts into the ground.

  • Patent number: 4126403
Abstract: A post construction is disclosed wherein an upper post section has its lower portion disposed in overlapped relation with the upper end portion of a lower post section and is connected thereto through a pair of breakaway elements which facilitate breakaway movement of the upper post section relative to the lower post section when the upper section is subjected to a predetermined impact force such as from a motor vehicle. A retainer bar is connected to the upper and lower post sections in a manner to prevent complete release of the post sections from each other upon impact, the retainer bar having lost motion connection with at least one of the post sections in a manner to substantially dissipate the impact force. In a preferred embodiment, the retainer bar is formed with offset web contact portions adapted to engage the opposed webs of the superimposed post sections and establish solid interconnection therebetween.
