  • Patent number: 6012891
Abstract: Loose parts in a shipping container can be dumped onto a table at a work station using a pivotal carrier. With the carrier in an upstanding position, a loaded shipping container can be transported into the carrier by the use of a fork lift truck. A lid on the carrier can then be lowered onto the container to retain the loose parts in place while the carrier is being pivoted to a tilted position. The lid has a parts discharge opening and a slidable closure plate that can be moved between a closed position and various partially-opened positions, to control the number of parts discharged from the container onto the work station table at any one time.

  • Patent number: 5743461
Abstract: A rectangular shipping container of corrugated cardboard in which the bottom is closed by first and second closure flaps hingedly connected to the lower edges of the side walls, and third and fourth closure flaps hingedly connected to the lower edges of the end walls. The first and second flaps are foldable inwardly to horizontal positions closing the bottom of the container in which their inner edges are closely spaced apart and define a channel. The third and fourth flaps are slotted and are foldable inwardly to horizontal positions in which they underlie the first and second flaps and their slots underlie the channel. A first retainer is slidable in the channel and in the slot in one of the slotted flaps, engaging the first and second flaps and the slotted flap to hold them in their horizontal positions. A second retainer is slidable in the channel and in the slot in the other slotted flap, engaging the first and second flaps and the other slotted flap to hold them in their horizontal positions.

  • Patent number: 5595304
Abstract: A shipping container having a relatively conventional rectangular shape is provided fabricated of multi-ply corrugated cardboard. A pallet is provided within the container. The pallet is supported by the bottom wall of the container. The pallet is also fabricated from multi-ply corrugated cardboard. A portion of one of the container side walls and an attached closure flap are provided with substantially parallel discontinuace slits which extend from and edge of the closure flap to a point substantially midway of the side wall. Tab portions are provided along the length of each slit. The tabs may be torn to separate the material between the slits and provide an opening which permits ready access to articles in the lower portion of the container.

  • Patent number: 5413216
Abstract: A shipping rack is provided for storing and transporting vehicle sliding door upper trim frames which must be adequately supported to prevent movement thereof during shipment which movement could cause damage to finished surfaces. The vehicle sliding door upper trim frames include an elongated central portion having end portions extending therefrom. The shipping rack includes an elongated lower frame end portion receiver structure for receiving one of the frame end portions and an elongated upper frame end portion frame holder structure for holding the other end portion. This arrangement results in supporting vehicle sliding door upper trim frames without contact with each other and in such fashion as to prevent any substantial movement during shipment.

  • Patent number: 5004102
Abstract: A shipping rack is provided for storing and transporting vehicle center console assemblies which must be adequately supported to prevent movement thereof during shipment which could cause damage to finished surfaces. The shipping rack includes a plurality of supports, each of which receives a vehicle center console assembly and supports the assembly without contact with other assemblies and in such fashion as to prevent longitudinal or transverse movement. Vertical movement is prevented by use of lids on the shipping rack.
