  • Patent number: 4832119
Abstract: A heat exchanger particularly for solar water heating applications including a plurality of fluid conducting ducts separated by a plurality of webs which are spaced apart longitudinally to leave substantial regions of the ducts free of webs. The ducts are connected to supply and return manifolds via connectors, the connectors having recesses into which the ends of the ducts are inserted and retained when the connectors are inserted in apertures in the manifolds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 1, 1987
Date of Patent: May 23, 1989
Inventors: Trevor J. Bloor, Lawrence J. Walton
  • Patent number: 4606327
Abstract: A clip is provided with first and second members to engage with opposing ends of a tile. The members are connected so as to be able to move relatively toward and away from each other so that detachable securement to the tile is possible. A constraint is provided to prevent substantial movement away from each other when attached to the tile.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 12, 1984
Date of Patent: August 19, 1986
Inventors: Trevor J. Bloor, Lawrence J. Walton
  • Patent number: 4597597
Abstract: A connection assembly for connecting flexible tubes such as flexible tubes of a solar heat exchanger to a header pipe. The connection assembly includes a tubular spigot member which co-acts at one end with a sleeve to compress the tube and maintain the tube in sealing engagement with the spigot member. The opposite end of the spigot member is engaged with the header pipe by means of a hollow flexible plug which is located in an aperture in the header pipe and which expands radially outwardly on engagement with the spigot member to prevent withdrawal of the spigot member and ensure efficient sealing therearound.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 14, 1983
Date of Patent: July 1, 1986
Inventors: Trevor J. Bloor, Lawrence J. Walton
  • Patent number: 4517961
Abstract: A solar absorber assembly primarily for domestic hot water systems having an extruded base member adapted to be located on a sun exposed roof surface, the base member supporting a reflector member and having upwardly extending side portions for supporting a ducting member above the reflector member and a glazing member above the ducting member.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 7, 1983
Date of Patent: May 21, 1985
Inventors: Trevor J. Bloor, Lawrence J. Walton
  • Patent number: 4269172
Abstract: A solar hot-water system having an absorber formed of plastic ducting adapted to be arranged unobtrusively on a roof surface whereby the water is heated by means of direct radiation from the sun and by means of conduction from the roof surface on which the ducting is supported.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 4, 1977
Date of Patent: May 26, 1981
