  • Publication number: 20010040434
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus useful for providing a voltage gain as well as for generating energy. The anomalous lack of repulsion observed between unbound electrons is exploited by the apparatus, which comprises an electron gun and a capacitor which is charged by free electrons and is discharged by a circuit. The preferred embodiment additionally comprises a magnetic bottle which is activatable.

  • Patent number: 5176794
Abstract: One or more layers of a sheet comprising (1) 60% to 99%, based on the weight of solids, of vermiculite delaminated by mechanical means only, (2) 1% to 40%, based on the weight of solids, of at least one fibrous material and (3) 0.1% to 4%, based on the weight of the vermiculite, of at least one flocculating agent, can be used to protect heat-sensitive substrates such as resin matrix composites from fire or heat.

  • Patent number: 4953320
Abstract: A cockroach trap is constructed to attract and kill cockroaches by providing a confined space between nested metal cups and including means for heating the space continuously to a first temperature such as 70.degree. to 90.degree. F. that is attractive to cockroaches and periodically heating to a temperature such as 180.degree. to 200.degree. F. that kills them. The two cups are stacked one inside the other with spacers between the cups. An electrical heating element is disposed circumferentially around the outside of the outer cup to provide the first temperature, and other elements in heat transfer relation with both of the cups providing the second temperature. Attractants such as pheremones, food scraps, or bait, along with water, may be provided at the bottom of the confined space. The inner cup may be readily lifted out to enable removal of dead cockroaches.

  • Patent number: 4897456
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of reducing the activation rate of an alkyl aluminum activator in the metathesis polymerization of polycyclic cycloolefins. Activation rate is reduced by use of a bidentate Lewis base as the reaction rate moderator.

  • Patent number: 4812260
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved process for producing dispersions of vermiculite ore particles by intercalating organo-cation salts into the vermiculite structure under shearing conditions to delaminate the ore and reduce particle size in one step.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4801403
Abstract: A process for the production of an aqueous dispersion of vermiculite ore particles comprising delaminating vermiculite ore by subjecting an aqueous slurry of the ore to a shearing action until a dispersion containing vermiculite lamellae having dimensions less than 200 microns is produced.

  • Patent number: 4727125
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of reducing the activation rate of an alkyl aluminum activator in the metathesis polymerization of strained ring cycloolefins. Activation rate is reduced by use of certain nucleophilic Lewis bases as the reaction rate moderator.
