  • Patent number: 4453504
Abstract: An engine with a cylinder assembly defining a cylinder chamber therein in which is reciprocally mounted a piston on a support tube slidably projecting on opposing ends of the cylinder chamber. A drive shaft is rotatably mounted through the support tube and a camming arrangement connects the piston and drive shaft to convert the reciprocal motion of the piston into rotary motion of the drive shaft. A pair of roller and guides alignment mechanisms are connected to opposite ends of the support tube externally of the cylinder assembly to prevent the piston from rotating but permit reciprocal motion thereof.

  • Patent number: 4249820
Abstract: A registration control system for a copying machine adapted to copy images from an original document medium onto selected different length sheets of copy paper with the copying machine having cutter means for selectively cutting the sheets of copy paper to length, conveying means for transporting the cut sheets of copy paper along a conveying path through an exposure station with the image projected onto the sheet of copy paper in the exposure station where the registration control system includes a cutter actuator for causing the cutter means to cut the sheets of copy paper to length; a conveyor actuator for causing the conveying means to move the cut sheets of copy paper through the exposure station; and manually adjustable control means interconnecting the cutter actuator and the conveyor actuator to cause cutter actuator to operate the cutter means to cut the sheets of copy paper to manually selected lengths while causing the conveyor actuator to operate the conveying means so that each cut sheet of copy

  • Patent number: 4095885
Abstract: A polarity switch circuit in a machine for electrostatically copying images from an original document image including corona charging means for imposing an electrostatic charge on a photoconductive medium, power supply means having a first output of one electrical polarity and a second output of the opposite polarity, and switch means for selectively connecting the first and second outputs to the corona charging means to selectively and alternatively impose an electrostatic charge on the photoconductive medium of the one electrical polarity and the opposite electrical polarity.

  • Patent number: 3981581
Abstract: A drive system for selectively pivoting a pivotally mounted member, especially a mirror-shutter assembly of a reader-printer apparatus including a driving element movable along a first path and a driven element movable along a second path operatively connected to the pivotally mounted member whereby the driving element engages and moves the driven element from a first position to a second position as the driving element moves along a first portion of the first path in a prescribed direction and whereby the driving element engages and moves the driven element from the second position to the first position as the driving element moves along a second portion of the path in the prescribed direction.

  • Patent number: 3944148
Abstract: A cassette for holding a roll of flexible material such as copy paper including a housing and a core on which the material is wound rotatably mounted within the housing. Braking means is provided for exerting a retarding force on the core as it is rotated with respect to the housing. The housing includes a plurality of components and locking means for connecting the components whereby the locking means is destroyed upon disassembly of the components.
