  • Patent number: 5736091
Abstract: A method of making a composite tube utilizing known equipment and process to form spaced end sections and a central section having an inner corrugated portion and surrounding portion bonded to at least certain crests of the corrugations. A spaced pair of generally cylindrical end couplings are formed by sequentially telescoping the end sections over an internal cylindrically contoured die part and continuing the telescoping until an inner surface of the telescoped end section engages at least three circumferentially spaced fingers to locate the telescoped end section in concentric relationship with the core part. Positioning an external die part in spaced concentric relationship around the telescoped end section, the external die part having an inner surface contoured to the desired external configuration of a coupling being formed. Injecting a heat softened thermoplastic material into the space between the die inner surface and the core to form a coupling.

  • Patent number: 5678610
Abstract: A composite tube for use in such applications as an automobile heater hose has inner and outer tubes. The inner tube has a corrugated central section and cylindrical end portions. The outer tube is bonded to the end portions of the inner tube and to the crests of the corrugations. The composite tube has spaced identical end couplings, each with a portion extending into and bonded to the associated inner tube end portion, an end part overlying and bonded to ends of the tube portions and an external flange surrounding and bonded to the reinforcing tube end portion. The couplings include circumferentially spaced end reliefs for facilitating connection of the coupling to a tube such as a fluid inlet to or outlet from an associated automobile radiator or the like. The composite tube is continuously formed in a known manner while the end couplings are molded with a novel and improved mold and process.

  • Patent number: 5312138
Abstract: A drain hose assembly for an automatic washer comprising a flexible corrugated plastic hose having an end inter-connectable with the automatic washer and a second barbed connection end insertable into a tubular elastomeric connection member such that a rotatable sealable connection is provided between the barbed connection end and the tubular elastomeric connection member. A flexible corrugated plastic extension member may be provided having the tubular elastomeric connection member integrally molded onto one end. The extension member may have, at the end opposite the elastomer connection member, a barbed connection end for further interconnections. The extension member may therefore, be sealably and rotatably connected to the drain hose for adding length. An elastomeric tubular nozzle formed into an approximate 180.degree. arc and having an enlarged end including the formed elastomeric connection member may be provided for providing a discharge end to the drain hose assembly.

  • Patent number: 4546021
Abstract: The present invention relates to a protective and decorative trim strip structure for attachment to a vehicle body. The trim strip structure includes an elongate molding having an elongate, double-faced adhesive tape strip extending substantially the entire length of the molding. One face of the tape strip is secured to the molding, while the opposite face has a detachable backing strip applied thereto. At least one stud member is secured to the molding and includes one end provided with a first tapered threaded section extending through the backing strip and the tape and into the molding, and an opposite end extending outwardly from the molding and adapted to receive a suitable fastening device.
