In one embodiment, a sound-dampening baffle and lighting apparatus is provided that includes a structural frame which provides support for a sound-dampening outer layer and a light source. The sound-dampening outer layer is disposed around the structural frame. The sound-dampening baffle and lighting apparatus also includes a light source disposed on the structural frame. The light source is directionally switchable so that light emanating from the light source points upward, downward or both.

Abstract: An ultraviolet lamp fixture used in combination with a conventional, commercial vacuum cleaner for the purpose of purifying the air within a room. The air, after being drawn into the vacuum cleaner and having the dirt particles removed, is exhausted into a U-shaped housing which is carried by the vacuum cleaner and which contains a plurality of longitudinally mounted ultraviolet ray tubes. When the air passes over these tubes, micro-organisms contained in the air are killed by exposure to the ultraviolet radiation emitted from the tubes. The purified air is then returned to the room through an aperture in the housing. The ultraviolet light fixture may be adapted to be used with an existing conventional vacuum cleaner as shown in this specification, or a new combination light fixture-vacuum cleaner may be manufactured.

Abstract: An ultraviolet lamp fixture for purifying the air within a room by means of passing the air over a plurality of hot cathode or other commercially available ultraviolet ray tubes. The tubes are mounted vertically within a decoratively covered, easily movable, pole-mounted housing having a motorized fan which moves air through an opening in the lower portion of the housing over the tubes for purification. The purified air stream is exhausted through the top portion of the housing and returned to the room. The interior of the housing has deflector vanes which function to create a turbulent air flow in the area of the tubes to insure that all of the air passing through the lamp fixture is purified by contacting the lamps. The lamp fixture is provided with means for filtering the circulating air. In an alternate embodiment, the air passes through a dehumidifier prior to passing by the tubes.
