  • Patent number: 5718454
Abstract: A roll assembly for use on a child's ride-on vehicle including an elongate main bar and an elongate support bar with a first end abutting the main bar. The support bar is coupled to the main bar by a universal joint assembly including a bar cap coupled to the first end of the support bar and a retention shell disposed over the main bar adjacent the support bar with the retention shell being movably engaged to the bar cap.

  • Patent number: 5031942
Abstract: A latch mechanism including a panel with structure on the panel movably mounting a trigger element and a striker element. The striker element is biased by a spring to an extended position where a latching end portion in the striker element extends beyond the panel. A cam in the trigger element engages a follower on the striker element to shift the striker element to a retracted position with movement of the trigger element.

  • Patent number: 4988143
Abstract: A dashboard assembly is provided to allow unitary vehicle body construction and to provide a dashboard which extends rearward over a floor pan area of a children's ride-on vehicle. The dashboard assembly, or mounting structure, includes a ledge which is integrally formed and recessed in the vehicle body and includes slots formed therein. An abutment structure is provided and surrounds the ledge and the vehicle body. The dashboard structure is constructed to rest on the ledge and has tangs thereon which are receivable in the slots formed in the ledge and abutment structure. An abutment-contacting structure is located on the dashboard structure and contacts the abutment structure to maintain the dashboard in the desired location.

  • Patent number: 4823632
Abstract: A toy vehicle transmission assembly unit having a drive gear that is nonrotatably mounted on a driven axle, and a multiple gear train that establishes a driving connection between the drive gear and a driving gear mounted on a shaft outwardly extending from a motor. The gear of the multiple gear train that immediately establishes the driving connection with the drive gear is shifted laterally by a shift lever that disengages the gear train from the drive gear. The transmission assembly unit is enclosed in a housing that provides a rotatable mounting for the drive gear.

  • Patent number: 4802372
Abstract: A transmission that uses a gear set in the form of a pair of gears stacked rigidly together to couple a driving gear to a driven gear has its ratio determined by the relative number of teeth of the stacked gears and the gears with which the stacked gears mesh. If the number of teeth of either or both gears in the stack is varied, the axle of the stack must be moved to a different location in order to keep all of the pairs of gears meshed. The transmission has two or more axle-receiving locations to receive the axles of stacks effecting different ratios. To simplify assembly, the stacks are color-coded according to the ratios they effect. Stacks of the chosen color will only fit in one axle location. The selected stack may be enclosed in the transmission housing so that its color code will not be visible after assembly of the transmission.

  • Patent number: RE33769
Abstract: A child's ridable vehicle is disclosed which includes generally first and second body portions with proximal ends overlapped and secured at alignment apertures to a frame of the vehicle. The second body portion overlaps the first body portion at still portions of each which are inverted U-shaped sections overlapped on the frame. The second body portion has a unitary post bushing passing through the alignment aperture in the first body portion and into an aperture in the frame to be secured by a threaded fastener and this locates both body portions relative to each other and to the frame. The two body portions may be assembled by placing them at a wide angle V and nesting them together then straightening out the two parts to be in common plane and mating them with the frame with a threaded fastener inserted through the frame and securing the two overlapped body portions to the frame.
