  • Patent number: 11901604
Abstract: An antenna for facilitating remote reading of utility meters is disclosed. The antenna includes a metal rod and a printed circuit board (PCB), both enclosed by an envelope that includes a plastic body and a plastic cap. The plastic body includes a channel for receiving the metal rod. The plastic cap is for covering the plastic body. The PCB includes a dielectric layer located between a first and second metal layers. Secured to the PCB, the metal rod is electrically connected to the second metal layer of the PCB, but not the first metal layer of the PCB.

  • Publication number: 20070242780
Abstract: A handheld audio system having a radio signal decoder that includes a method for adjusting a system clock. Adjusting the system clock includes receiving a signal at a rate of a receive clock, wherein the signal includes data at a transmit rate. An error term is determined between the receive rate and the transmit rate. Based on the receive clock and the error term, where the error term is non-zero, a clock signal is generated.

  • Publication number: 20070129038
Abstract: A radio receiver front-end includes a tunable antenna interface and a low noise amplifying section. The tunable antenna interface is operably coupled to receive a wide bandwidth signal from an antenna, wherein the wide bandwidth signal includes a plurality of channel signals, and wherein the tunable antenna interface is tuned to pass a selected one of the plurality of channel signals substantially unattenuated and to attenuate remaining ones of the plurality of channel signals to produce a filtered wide bandwidth signal. The low noise amplifying section is operably coupled to amplify the filtered wide bandwidth signal to produce a filtered and amplified wide bandwidth signal.

  • Patent number: 7023832
Abstract: A highly reliable radio paging system with a combination of time, frequency and spacial diversity in order to increase the reliability of the system. Time diversity is provided by broadcasting the same message at a number of different times. Spacial diversity is achieved by broadcasting the same message from a number of different locations. Frequency diversity is achieved by broadcasting the same message at a number of different frequencies. The paging receiver is designed to receive messages on a number of different frequencies; however, the pager only responds to a message the first time that it receives the particular message. The combination of time, frequency, and spacial diversity provide a highly reliable radio paging system.

  • Patent number: 6744323
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a phase lock loop (PLL) and a lock circuit. The PLL may be configured to multiply an input frequency in response to a lock signal. The lock circuit may be configured to generate the lock signal. The PLL may also be configured to select a reference frequency as (i) the input frequency when in a first mode and (ii) a divided frequency of the input frequency when in a second mode.

  • Patent number: 6433668
Abstract: The present invention provides a highly reliable radio paging system. The radio paging system of the present invention provides a combination of time, frequency and spacial diversity in order to increase the reliability of the system. Time diversity is provided by broadcasting the same message at a number of different times. Spacial diversity is achieved by broadcasting the same message from a number of different locations. Frequency diversity is achieved by broadcasting the same message at a number of different frequencies. The paging receiver according to the present invention is designed to receive messages on a number of different frequencies; however, the pager only responds to a message the first time that it receives the particular message. The combination of time, frequency, and spacial diversity provided by the present invention results in a highly reliable radio paging system.
