  • Patent number: 6113079
Abstract: A novel fractionation tray (1) includes slidable decking plates (4) located between and alongside parallel downcomers (2). The decking plates located between a pair of downcomers have sections which may be extended outward toward the edge of the tray to adapt the shape of the tray to the internal shape of the column in which it is installed. A method of installing the trays, with an upper tray being supported only by a lower tray, is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5573714
Abstract: Fractionation trays are provided with an antipenetration pan which intercepts liquid falling from the downcomer of a vertically superior tray. The antipenetration pans are supported above the surface of the lower tray by brackets attached to the tray decking and to a horizontal deck brace which extends across the tray deck at the location of a joint or splice between adjacent tray deck plates. The invention thereby provides a simple, low cost and easy to install integral antipenetration pan and tray splice construction.

  • Patent number: 4766731
Abstract: A method to deliver ultra high purity helium gas to a use point without need for further pressurization of helium gas after it is warmed or vaporized, wherein gaseous helium, having a purity which can be less than that of the product, is passed in heat exchange relation with cold helium to warm or vaporize and thus pressurize the helium while simultaneously being cleaned of impurities, and the resulting helium gas from both sources is delivered as ultra high purity helium gas to the use point.

  • Patent number: 4627456
Abstract: A valve system for particulate solid flow control which is especially advantageous where combined particulate solid and fluid flow control through a pressure level change is desired, such as might be used in conjunction with a lockhopper.

  • Patent number: 4401155
Abstract: A heat exchanger constructed from a plurality of stacked modules, each module having closed channels for high pressure flow and fins extending vertically up and/or down from the channels which form open channels suitable for low pressure flow when the modules are stacked parallel along their length.
