  • Patent number: 7000521
Abstract: The method of cutting a pleated shade to selected length, said shade having pleats retained in pleated condition between longitudinally elongated first and second retainers, that includes the steps providing a blade having a cutting edge, orienting the blade to extend laterally relative to the retainers and/or pleats, with the blade edge presented toward the first retainer at an angle to that retainer, and urging the blade in a first direction toward the first retainer so that the blade edge cuts through the first retainer progressively in a lateral and second direction, and progressively laterally through the pleats and lower retainer, the pleats and/or retainers being adjustably laterally confined, and the first retainer and pleats being clamped in said first direction at the locus of cutting, by force transmission from the blade.

  • Patent number: 6948545
Abstract: A method of controlling the vertical height of a window shade having a top and bottom, which includes providing shade upper support structure at or proximate the shade top; providing at least one substantially vertically elongated shade support line extending downwardly from the upper support structure, and providing shade lower support structure at or proximate the shade bottom; elevating or lowering the shade lower support structure relative to one or more support lines; and securing the shade lower support structure to the line or lines at a selected height position relative to the line length above the lower support structure, whereby the height of the shade bottom can be quickly manually adjusted by adjustment of the height of the shade lower support structure effective securement to line or lines.

  • Patent number: 6889741
Abstract: Apparatus for raising and lowering a window shade, comprising first and second lines movable together to raise and lower the shade, a third line, which is a control line, and first, second and third rotors to which the first and second and third lines are respectively connected, whereby when the third line is displaced, the third rotor rotates to effect rotation of the first and second rotors to displace the first and second dines to raise or lower the shade.
