  • Publication number: 20190043616
Abstract: In various embodiments, a personal emergency detection, notification, coordination and response method and system for individuals is disclosed. A monitoring device, for example a digital smart watch, is configured to identify an emergency using built-in sensors. The sensors are operable to perform spectral analysis of skin tissues. Example sensors include: LEDs and optical detectors for heart rate monitoring, blood perfusion checking, and tissue oxygenation checking; acceleration sensing to sense falls and accidents; and a GPS system for reporting the location of the wearer to interested parties. A communication chip with an associated antenna, and an audio chip are also included. Deviations in vital signs are used to detect health anomalies. By aggregating data that is anonymously collected from multiple users, the system constructs models that are compared with data from a specific user, to warn the user before an emergency occurs, for certain classes of health incidents.

  • Publication number: 20170330438
Abstract: A life alert system which continually monitors a subject's heart rate via a wearable device such as a smart watch and automatically alerts call center personnel to engage emergency responders in the event of a cardiac incident, and provide the location of the subject. In response to measured physiological parameters, besides alerting the call center the watch attempts to communicate with the subject. After an emergency responder has been dispatched, the watch also displays medical information about the subject, providing an electronic “medic alert” bracelet function.

  • Publication number: 20160058082
Abstract: A hand and animal leash cover that includes a glove-shaped outer shell configured to surround an individual's hand while holding a leash retracting device or the loop on a standard leash with the middle section of the leash extending forward and attaching to the neck or harness on an animal. The outer shell includes a front leash opening with a diameter slightly larger than the clip or buckle connector attached the distal end of the leash. Also formed on the outer shell opposite the core opening is a wrist opening. Formed or attached around the wrist opening is a hand strap that allows the user to grasp the outer shell with the opposite free hand, and an elastic band that closely conforms the wrist opening to the user's wrist. The leash cover includes an optional wrist strap and tether that allows the user to release his or her grip on the retracting device and remove his hand from the outer shell to pickup or manipulate other objects and still use the arm to restrain the leash and control the animal.
