  • Patent number: 5695012
Abstract: A deep subsoiler (50) consists of a plurality of carriages (58) abreast on a frame (52) and a plurality of shanks (60) mounted on each of said carriages. The mounting for each of said shanks provides a fail-safe mechanism consisting of a pair of rosettes (72) with shear-bolts (86). Said rosettes enable the operator to minutely set an angle of attack for each shank tip (P37). Said carriages align parallel with a direction of travel. Each shank on the carriage functions at an increasing depth which provides a staged sequence with a shortest shank (60c) in a forward position. Theory and tests indicate a draft reduction using staged shanks. Said tips for these shanks produce larger voids in the subsoil and increase the flow of subsoil to the surface. Staged shank standards (P40) cut narrower grooves in the surface that inhibit rivulets. The larger voids hold more water and organic material and this material adheres better to the surface.

  • Patent number: 5520253
Abstract: A method employing a basic structure and a collection of components to improve efficiency in caring for laws and gardens. The basic structure comprises a single engine, speed reducer, and transmission mounted on a frame with handle bars and controls. The components make up a collection of tines, wheels, blades, rollers, plows, racks and mounting parts. The operator mounts selected components on the basic structure to create a custom ramification for accomplishing a specific task. The specification describes eighteen applications. Eight apply to common tasks of tilling, grading, removing snow, shredding, edging and mowing. The ten remaining apply to new methods for wet lands tilling, hard ground tilling, rolling, aerating, dethatching, scooping, lifting, cross country transporting, and automatic mixing and separating. A primary advantage of the method lies in a consolidation that reduces costs for capital outlay, maintenance, storage, and transportation of walk behind equipment.

  • Patent number: 4096803
Abstract: This invention is a solid fuel air turbo rocket. A solid propellant charge, hich is richer in fuel than conventional propellant compositions, burns in an initial chamber. The gases so produced pass through turbine blades into a second chamber. The turbine, which is rotated by the gases impinging on and passing through the blades, drives a compressor which compresses air from the atmosphere. This compressed air is fed into the second chamber where the oxygen in the air reacts with the fuel rich gas to produce further combustion and gas expansion. The gasious products so generated pass through a nozzle into the atmosphere, resulting in thrust to the missile. As the missile accelerates a variable area air inlet is reduced to maintain a normal shock at the throat. When ramjet take-over velocities are reached, the turbo-compressor is jettisoned to allow the second chamber to function as a ramjet burner.
