Abstract: A system and method for remotely activating and remotely initiating retrieval of a content data file using a mobile communications device with public network access; a remote polling cycle and a playback device for retrieval of the content data file; and, a notification of file retrieval completion sent to the user of the system by the an electronic message to the device of the user's choice. The system and method remotely manage delivery of dynamic online content on various playback devices. The system and method perform remote activation, initialization, and notification, of content data file retrieval utilizing wireless communication devices having an application interface.
