  • Patent number: 4940752
Abstract: Blends of polycarbonates and a graft copolymer comprising a copolymer of a vinyl aromatic monomer and one or more C.sub.2-8 alkyl esters of C.sub.3-6 ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids and methyl methacrylate grafted on to a styrene butadiene or styrene isoprene block copolymer, have improved toughness and processability. The blends may be prepared using intensive mixing or by solution blending.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 8, 1989
Date of Patent: July 10, 1990
    Assignee: Polysar Financial Services S.A.

  • Patent number: 4863604
Abstract: Novel microporous, asymmetric, integral, composite piolyfluorocarbon, e.g., polytetrafluoroethylene, membranes are disclosed. These membranes are made up of two or more sheets of microporous fluorocarbon polymer having different average pore sizes, arranged to provide an increasing gradations in average pore size from one surface of the membrane to the other, and are useful as microfilters for removing fine particle contaminants, including bacteria, from fluids such as those encountered in the electronics and pharmaceutical industries.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 5, 1987
Date of Patent: September 5, 1989
    Assignee: Parker-Hannifin Corporation
Inventors: Lawrence Y. Lo, Dwight J. Thomas
