Abstract: A vehicle's dynamic handling state, driver inputs to the vehicle, driver physiological condition, etc. may be examined to determine one or more measures of driver workload. Driver interface tasks may then be delayed and/or prevented from executing based on the driver workload so as to not increase the driver workload. Alternatively, driver interface tasks may be schedule for execution based on the driver workload and caused to execute according to the schedule, for example, to minimize the impact the executing driver interface tasks have on driver workload.

Abstract: Systems and methods of handling online communication and commerce via a publish/subscribe pattern are described. Publishers and subscribers can post event messages to broadcast or subscribe to subjects of interest. Each event message must contain four required dimensions, namely WHO, WHAT, WHEN and WHERE. The system will match publishers' and subscribers' events by evaluating all four dimensions for matching conditions. When there are matches, the system will notify users (publishers and/or subscribers). If users respond to events notification, then the system will handle communication and/or commercial transactions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a valve assembly, the valve assembly comprising: a valve body having a first pressure chamber and a second pressure chamber, wherein the pressure of the first pressure chamber is lower than that of the second pressure chamber, and the pressure of the second pressure chamber is discharged to the first pressure chamber in response to the change of the pressure of the first pressure chamber; a blocking device arranged between the first pressure chamber and the second pressure chamber; and a valve stem arranged in the valve body with one end movably contacting the blocking device; and a diaphragm connected to the valve stem and adjacent to or arranged above the first pressure chamber; wherein when the pressure of the first pressure chamber is changed, the diaphragm forces the valve stem to move by sensing the pressure change of the first pressure chamber.

Abstract: Devices are described including a first component and a second component, wherein the first component comprises a Group III-N semiconductor and the second component comprises a bimetallic oxide containing tin, having an index of refraction within 15% of the index of refraction of the Group III-N semiconductor, and having negligible extinction coefficient at wavelengths of light emitted or absorbed by the Group III-N semiconductor. The first component is in optical contact with the second component. Exemplary bimetallic oxides include Sn1-xBixO2 where x?0.10, Zn2SnO2, Sn1-xAlxO2 where x?0.18, and Sn1-xMgxO2 where x?0.16. Methods of making and using the devices are also described.

The extension region has a thickness strictly greater than that of the channel such that the extension region has an increased thickness opposite the gate dielectric layer. The first face of the first spacer is in contact with the side of the gate followed by the side of the gate dielectric layer such that the first face covers the whole of the side of the layer.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide techniques and configurations for stacking transistors of a memory device. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a semiconductor substrate, a plurality of fin structures formed on the semiconductor substrate, wherein an individual fin structure of the plurality of fin structures includes a first isolation layer disposed on the semiconductor substrate, a first channel layer disposed on the first isolation layer, a second isolation layer disposed on the first channel layer, and a second channel layer disposed on the second isolation layer, and a gate terminal capacitively coupled with the first channel layer to control flow of electrical current through the first channel layer for a first transistor and capacitively coupled with the second channel layer to control flow of electrical current through the second channel layer for a second transistor. Abstract: Methods for inserting a middlebox into a network connection include monitoring network state information in a connection between a client and a server. When the connection is idle, a connection entry is created for each device and is initialized using state information gathered by monitoring the network connection. Redirection of the network connection is activated between the client and the server such that the middlebox mediates the connection. Methods for removing a middlebox from a network connection include determining a degree of mismatch between a sequence number in a first connection between the middlebox and a client and a sequence number in a second connection between the middlebox and a server, delaying acknowledgment signals from the middlebox on a connection to decrease the degree of mismatch, and establishing a direct connection between the client and the server without mediation by the middlebox when the degree of mismatch is zero.

Abstract: Changes to a hierarchical organizational structure may be stored in different versions of a data structure depicting the hierarchical organizational structure. Each of these versions may include a validity period field representing a time period that the hierarchical organizational structure depicted in the version accurately reflects the organizational structure of the organization. Each of the versions may also be designated as active or inactive. In some instances, each of the versions may be designated as inactive except for a version that reflects the organizational structure of the organization at a particular time, which may change over time. Historical copies of versions may be stored and subsequently recalled to identify an organizational structure that was in effect at a particular time in the past. The recalled version may then be used to limit the results of a query to a selected node of the historical organizational structure.

Abstract: A resource management unit for a mobile telephone terminal, with the terminal comprising radio transmission/reception means for transmitting and receiving radio frequency signals corresponding to bursts of symbols during allocated time slots, and a device able to operate in a first mode and in a second mode, said device interfering less with the transmission/reception of radio frequency signals when it is in the first mode than when it is in the second mode. The resource management unit is able to cause the device to change from one of the first and second modes to the other of the first and second modes during the same time slot.

Abstract: Middlebox systems that can enter a connection include a monitoring module to monitor information in a connection between a client and a server, a processor to determine that the connection is idle, a table configured to create a first entry for the client and a second entry for the server, where the entries are initialized using information gathered by the monitoring module, and a control module to redirect the connection between the client and server to the middlebox. Middlebox systems that can exit a connection include a processor to determine a mismatch between sequence numbers in a first connection to a client device and in a second connection to a server device. A network control module delays acknowledgment signals from the middlebox on a connection to decrease the degree of mismatch and establishes a direct connection between the client device and the server device when mismatch is zero.

Abstract: Systems and methods for evaluating a worker in performing crowd sourced tasks and providing in-task training are disclosed. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method, which may be implemented on a system, for selecting a job distributed through a job distribution platform for workers to work on, for use to generate a test task, the job being associated with a known correct result, associating a manipulated result, known to be an incorrect result for the job, with the job to generate the test task, and/or presenting the job with the manipulated result as the test task to a worker for evaluation of work quality of the worker. The job distribution platform crowd sources tasks online to workers to work on via their respective computing devices.

Abstract: A method is described for merging security constraints associated with an application when using security annotations. The application comprises one or more servlets, such as a Java servlet. During application deployment, a list of role names is generated by merging static security constraints, for example, identified in a deployment descriptor, and in a static security annotation that defines a list containing the names of authorized roles for a servlet. Later, during application runtime in an application server, security constraints are retrieved from a plurality of sources, including both dynamic and static security annotations. Using the list of role names and the security constraints retrieved, a set of merged security constraints having a defined and proper order of precedence is generated. In particular, preferably one or more dynamic security annotations are first merged with one or more static security annotations to generate a set of runtime constraints.

Abstract: An integrated circuit is formed having an array of memory cells located in the dielectric stack above a semiconductor substrate. Each memory cell has two adjustable resistors and two heating elements. A dielectric material separates the heating elements from the adjustable resistors. One heating element alters the resistance of one of the resistors by applying heat thereto to write data to the memory cell. The other heating element alters the resistance of the other resistor by applying heat thereto to erase data from the memory cell.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product is disclosed for supporting role-based access control in a collaborative environment, wherein pluralities of users work together in a collaborative process using a software system. The method comprises componentizing the software system into a multitude of software components, and limiting access to specific software components to certain users based on roles assigned to the users as defined by a run-time state of the collaborative process. The set of components that a user can access is dynamic, that set can change based on the “context” or the step where the user is in a collaborative workflow/process.
