Abstract: Disclosed is a simple portable holder for holding electronic devices such as a laptop computer and a tablet. The holder can secure a laptop in a vertical (closed) position, or an open position. The holder includes a base, at least four posts and straps between the posts for holding the device. The straps between the posts form a substantial U-shaped area for stowage of the device while the device is in a closed position. The posts may have flat or curved profiles including a slanted or curved top portion thereof. The curvature at the top of the posts is used for securing the laptop while in an open position to the device holder. The holder may be placed on the floor to avoid clutter on a work surface, or for the convenience of the user having it near a seat.

Large geographic regions may be defended by equipping a constellation of high-altitude airborne platforms with RF detectors, GPS receivers and a communications unit. The communications unit downlinks data indicating an RF weapon pulse and associated time and location data. From this data, a ground station performs a time difference of arrival (TDOA) location fix of the RF weapon.

Abstract: A timer for monitoring the use of hot water in the home to conserve energy is shown. The entire timer apparatus is enclosed inside the hot water control knob so that when the control knob is rotated to turn ON the hot water, the timer is activated. After predetermined time intervals, various visual and audio alarms are given, the alarms thus encouraging the conservation of energy by using less hot water. Also, the timer monitors the number of times the hot water has been used during a given period of time, such as a month or year. The timer, in addition to its primary energy saving function, is ideally suited for use as the hot water control knob of a bathroom shower.
