    Abstract: Various implementations of removable custom-shaped orthodontic aligners in combination with a removable custom-shaped orthodontic expander in the context of an orthodontic treatment of the patient, related systems, and computer program products and methods for the design and/or manufacturing of such aligners, and/or such expander are disclosed. In an exemplary implementation, multiple aligners of a series of staged aligners and the expander are configured to provide with each other a snap-in, form-lock interface so that the expander is positioned atop, positioned, and held by the aligner. An expander for the upper jaw may include an integrated bite plane. For example, computer program process steps planning the treatment and designing the aligners in combination with the expander are weighing interproximal reduction (IPR) versus transversal expansion.
