  • Patent number: 11800050
Abstract: A rearview display system is provided for a vehicle having: a rear camera generating a rearward video stream, a right-side camera generating a right-side stream, and a left-side camera generating a left-side stream. The system includes a processing circuit for generating a composite video stream from: (a) the rearward stream and the right-side stream, (b) the rearward stream and the left-side stream, and (c) at least the rearward stream. When the composite stream is formed from the rearward stream and the right-side stream, the rearward stream extends across the whole composite stream with the exception of a right corner where the right-side stream is superimposed over the rearward stream. When the composite stream is formed from the rearward stream and the left-side stream, the rearward stream extends across the whole composite stream with the exception of a left corner where the left-side stream is superimposed over the rearward stream.

  • Patent number: 11708024
Abstract: A dynamic imaging system is disclosed. The dynamic imaging system may comprise one or more imager, one or more input device, a controller, and/or a display. Each imager may be operable to capture a video stream having a field of view. In some embodiments, the controller may articulate the imager or crop the field of view to change the field of view in response to signals from the one or more input devices. For example, the signal may relate to the vehicle's speed. In other embodiments, the controller may apply a warp to the field of view. The warp may be applied in response to signals from the one or more input devices. In yet other embodiments, video streams from one or more imagers may be stitched together by the controller. Further, the controller may likewise move the stitch line in response to signals from the or more input devices.

  • Publication number: 20180232866
Abstract: A display apparatus for a vehicle comprises a display screen configured to emit augmented image data in an emission direction. The apparatus further comprises a lens apparatus configured to receive the augmented image data from the display screen. The lens apparatus is configured to project the augmented image data to a focal distance different than a display surface of the display screen. The apparatus also comprises an image processor configured to generate the augmented image data from image data supplied to the image processor. The augmented image data is configured to correct for a distortion caused by the image data passing through the lens apparatus.
