  • Patent number: 6570293
Abstract: The invention relates to an alternator having a stator core with a rotor located in the opening of the stator core for rotation therein. The rotor coil has 455 turns of 17.5 gauge wire with a resistance of about 1.9 ohms with rotor pole members having an outside diameter of 4.76 inches. The radial distance between the outside diameter of the rotor pole members and the inside diameter of the stator core is about 0.002-0.003 of an inch.

  • Patent number: 5424599
Abstract: The alternator has an annular stationary stator and a rotor concentrically located therein with two, three phase delta windings wound on the stator core. In one embodiment, the two three phase windings are connected together in series for use with two batteries for supplying 12 and/or 24 volts D.C. In this embodiment the two three phase windings are the same and are wound on the segments of the core such that coils of the same number of turns are wound around the same groups of segments. In another embodiment, the two three phase windings are connected together in parallel for use with one battery for supplying 12 volts D.C. In this embodiment, the two three phase windings are different and are wound on the segments of the core such that coils of different turns are wound around the same groups of segments.

  • Patent number: 5296778
Abstract: The stator of the alternator has a delta winding with each winding having twelve coils. Three diode bridges are provided with each bridge being connected to the junction of two of the windings. Each bridge has four positive diodes connected in parallel and four negative diodes connected in parallel. Two of the positive diodes of each bridge and two of the negative diodes of each bridge are connected to a first output member and the other two positive diodes and the other two negative diodes of each bridge are connected to a second output member. Two heat sink plates are connected to the inside of one wall of the alternator housing and a third heat sink plate is connected to the outside of the wall. Each plate supports diodes from three of the bridges.
