Abstract: A gas cooktop includes a gas burner and a grate configured to support cookware above the gas burner. The grate includes a first set of tines and a second set of tines. Each of the first set of tines includes an angled end portion configured to support a round-bottomed cookware. The second set of tines includes one of a receiver or a protrusion on an upper surface. A removable insert includes a plurality of legs. At least one leg has another of the receiver or the protrusion. When the removable insert is contacting the plurality of tines, the protrusion is located within the receiver to fix the grate and the removable insert is configured to support flat-bottomed cookware. When the removable insert is not contacting the plurality of tines, the angled end portion of the first set of tines is configured to stabilize round-bottomed cookware.
