Abstract: Global and semi-global raingage orifices are provided which are suitable for use in conjunction with widely accepted standard gages to more accurately measure the local accumulation of precipitation, regardless of wind direction and speed during rainfall. The gage may be installed with its orifice either at ground level or a short distance above the surface. The gage orifices can be mounted on top of standard raingages, and measurements derived according to existing standards. The gage orifices are simple in design, easy to operate, and inexpensive.
