    Abstract: An anti-theft device for securing an article of merchandise against unauthorized removal from a display counter. The anti-theft device comprises a latch plate and a pedestal having a quick-release interface. The latch plate is configured to selectively couple to the quick-release interface. A latch bolt is disposed within the pedestal. The latch bolt locks the latch plate relative to the quick-release interface. A plurality of retaining arms is configured to receive and retain an article of merchandise. The retaining arms cannot be disengaged from the article of merchandise while the latch plate is locked relative to the quick-release interface. A solenoid is housed within the pedestal and operationally connected to the latch bolt. The solenoid is configured to retract the latch bolt into a position in which the latch bolt disengages the latch plate, thereby releasing the latch plate from the quick-release interface.

The electrolyte solvent and the electrolyte salt are present in an electrolyte of the electrochemical cell. The SEI layer does not include a fluorine content greater than 5 wt. %.

    Abstract: In various examples, the ride quality of an autonomous vehicle is improved by selecting a lateral lane position based at least in part on measured road-condition information. In various examples, information describing the condition of a road is obtained by measuring vehicle motion and road noise using sensors on the vehicle. This information is stored in association with the lateral lane position of the vehicle to produce a profile describing expected ride quality as a function of lateral lane position. In some examples, this information is uploaded and aggregated on a remote server to produce a lateral profile of road condition using information collected by many vehicles.

    Abstract: Wax-based compositions for making barrier layers used in oral treatment devices are thermally stable when formed into a flat sheet or three-dimensional article to a temperature of at least 45° C. and are plastically deformable at room temperature (25° C.). The wax-based compositions include a wax fraction homogeneously blended with a polymer fraction. The wax fraction includes at least one wax and the polymer fraction includes at least one polymer selected such that, when the at least one wax and at least one polymer are homogeneously blended together, they yield a wax-based composition having the desired properties of thermal stability and plastic deformability. Barrier layers and oral treatment devices made from such wax-based compositions are dimensionally stable to a temperature of at least 40° C. without external support and can be plastically deformed in a user's mouth to become at least partially customized to the size and shape of user's unique dentition.

    Abstract: A long life live-fire target having a front, back, top, and bottom, the front including a bullet strike zone, the target constructed of a ferrous steel material. The target further includes at least one mount, the at least one mount and target formed as a single unitary structure, the at least one mount extending angularly away from the front into a mounting position, such that the at least one mount is positioned so that a bullet fired at the bullet strike zone is not likely to strike the at least one mount. The mounting position is formed when either the target is in an annealed state or the target is constructed of a soft ferrous steel. After the mounting position is formed, the target is heat treated to a hardened state. Cryogenic freezing of the target may also be performed followed by a tempering cycle.
