  • Patent number: 8255881
Abstract: A method for calculating a composite risk is disclosed. The method may include receiving information associated with a plurality of risk factors. The information may include a timeline for each risk factor, and the timeline may include a plurality of discrete time points. The method may further include determining risk values indicative of risk levels of each risk factor associated with the plurality of discrete time points. The method may also include calculating the composite risk using the determined risk values and a relationship between the composite risk and the plurality of risk factors. The composite risk may include a plurality of composite risk values associated with the plurality of discrete time points.

  • Patent number: 8229814
Abstract: An invoice processing system includes a requisition and catalog server (referred to as a Req/Cat Web, or RCW, server), a procurement services system (SAP), and a requester terminal (browser). ReqCat Web allows requesters to input requirements (requisitions) which ReqCat then passes to SAP, which creates purchase orders, sends them to vendors for fulfillment, receives the vendors invoices, and prepares the payments. Commodities may be designated as either receivable or non-receivable, and this designation is stored in ReqCat web and passed to SAP on inbound requisitions. Payments on invoices received for non-receivable items are approved via a positive confirmation process, and payments on invoices received for receivable items are approved via a negative confirmation process. Positive acceptance of an invoice by a requester of commodities triggers automatic generation of a goods received (move) ticket.

  • Publication number: 20120121227
Abstract: A conductor assembly, a conductor spacer and an associated method for separating conductors are provided in order to secure conductors to one another and/or to an underlying platform. A conductor assembly includes a spacer body having a prismatic solid shape, first and second conductors that extend alongside the spacer body and first and second ties for securing the conductors to the spacer body. The spacer body includes a pair of end faces and a plurality of side faces extending between the end faces. The spacer body also defines an internal cavity that is accessible via openings defined by the end faces and at least two of the side faces. The spacer body is configured to provide different spacings between the conductors when the ties extend through different ones of the openings.

  • Patent number: 8176416
Abstract: A method and system for presenting a document to a plurality of media device types optimized for the display medium. A document is generated in a markup language, and a plurality of style sheets are provided for formatting the document for a requesting device, with each style sheet accommodating a distinct display environment. The markup elements that reference two separate cascading style sheets (CSS) are configured differently such that they isolate the CSS reference for either high-resolution graphical display devices or small screen, low-resolution graphical display devices. A third style sheet is used as an intermediary to pass a CSS reference to small screen browsers while at the same time, shielding the CSS reference from certain high resolution browsers incapable of parsing the syntax of the reference.

  • Patent number: 7848970
Abstract: A system and method for keeping ledger accounts in synchronization between a back-end procurement system and a front-end requisition and catalog system. An extract utility extracts a file of general ledger (G/L) accounts, including account code, description, and company code, from a chart of accounts in the back-end and transfers it to the front-end, where it is updated by an update utility to include company group code from a company group table and then loaded into a data store of valid general ledger accounts. Maintenance of the front end data store of valid accounts includes pushing to all companies in a company group ledger code entered with respect to any one of the companies in that group.

  • Publication number: 20100014755
Abstract: A system and method for segmenting an image. The system and method include: imposing a grid having a plurality of grid cells on the image, each grid cell including a respective subimage; extracting image features from each of the plurality of grid cells; classifying the subimages in each grid cell without using geometric information about the image using a trained classification routine; generating classified image segments from the classified subimages; and generating a class map from the classified image segments. Selected features in the generated class map may then be compared with a database of existing images to determine a potential match.

  • Publication number: 20090144152
Abstract: A system of guaranteeing loan repayments by a split funding method from credit card and online check settled deposits. By split funding transaction deposits, the system provides and tracks a line of credit to the sales representatives. The inventive process: (1) evaluates the sales representative's credit worthiness; (2) approves a line of credit for the sales representative to use in purchasing inventory; (3) ties the liability for the line of credit to the product being sold; (4) accounts for the increases and decreases in the available line of credit as sales representatives purchase items, then repay the line of credit as they sell merchandise; (5) automatically distributes funds to all parties concerned using a prescribed hierarchy when the sales representative sells merchandise; (6) accounts for settling all aspects of customer transactions including commissions, interest, principal repayment, and processing fees; and (7) deposits commissions or net sales proceeds onto the stored value card.
