  • Patent number: 8106765
Abstract: Means for connecting a local electrical power source to the wiring of a building wiring. A branch circuit monitor module can be installed as part of a branch circuit that includes a circuit breaker and a power receptacle and having safe operating ranges for current and voltage carried by the branch circuit. The branch circuit monitor module can measure data representative of one or more of voltage, current, and current flow direction in the branch circuit between the circuit breaker and the power receptacle and outputs the data. A communications and control module can receive the data and in response presents control commands to a local power source, the control commands causing the local power source to modify its power output such that the branch circuit stays within the safe operating ranges. Related systems, apparatus, methods, and/or articles are also described.

  • Publication number: 20110155311
Abstract: An imageable medium includes a reusable substrate and a removable surface layer semi-permanently bonded to a major surface of the substrate, the reusable substrate comprising an opaque backing to the removable surface layer and the removable surface layer comprising an imageable surface. A use indicator can be incorporated into the imageable medium, and correspond to at least one of the reusable substrate and removable surface layer. The use indicator can be an RFID chip. A method of imaging includes preparing an imageable medium by semi-permanently bonding an imageable layer to a reusable substrate, the reusable substrate providing an opaque backing to the imageable layer; imaging the imageable layer of the imageable medium; removing an imaged layer upon completion of use of the imaged medium; and repeatedly imaging a revealed imageable layer and removing the imaged layer.

  • Patent number: 7945346
Abstract: A configurable self-identifying workpiece transport system is described for moving an associated workpiece relative to a plurality of associated workpiece functional units selectively performing operations on the associated workpiece. The transport system includes a plurality of transport modules and a control unit. The plurality of transport modules are disposed in selected positions relative to the associated workpiece functional units, and each of the plurality of transport modules stores identification data and functionality data specific to the transport module. The control unit includes an automatic identification system in communication with each of the plurality of transport modules for retrieving the identification data and the functionality data from each of the plurality of transport modules and generating an itinerary for moving the associated workpiece relative to the workpiece functional units.

  • Publication number: 20040036953
Abstract: A method of creating or changing an image on an electric paper display includes selectively applying electric fields to various regions of bichromal media. The methods may apply the fields in a manner such that the vector sum of all fields applied equals zero, and/or the methods may wipe clean the bichromal media so that a single-color screen is displayed before a new image is applied.
