  • Patent number: 11985938
Abstract: A novel maize variety designated X13R056 and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are produced by crossing inbred maize varieties. Methods for producing a maize plant by crossing hybrid maize variety X13R056 with another maize plant are disclosed. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into X13R056 through backcrossing or genetic transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby are described. Maize variety X13R056, the seed, the plant produced from the seed, and variants, mutants, and minor modifications of maize variety X13R056 are provided. Methods for producing maize varieties derived from maize variety X13R056 and methods of using maize variety X13R056 are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20240159107
Abstract: A method includes drilling a first bore into a formation to a first depth, the bore having a bore wall and a first diameter that is sufficient to receive a casing pipe. A casing pipe is driven into the drill bore, the casing pipe having a binder on an exterior surface of the casing pipe that is configured to secure the casing pipe to the bore wall, the casing pipe being secured to an anchoring nut at a proximal end. The anchoring nut includes a gripping feature. An anchoring clamp of a drill rig is engaged with the gripping feature of the anchoring nut to thereby anchor the drill rig to the formation. The anchoring clamp includes a plurality of jaws that are movable toward and away from a central axis.

  • Patent number: 11553687
Abstract: A device and method for detecting and recording animal behavior is provided. The device includes an enclosure having first and second chambers, each of the chambers having exterior panels formed of an opaque material, at least one image capture device disposed in each of the first and second chambers, the at least one image capture device arranged to capture behavior data of one or more freely roaming rodents, and a first container insertable into one of the first and second containers and positioned below a respective image capture device, the container having one or more corrals into which one or more rodents are housed during testing, the container being formed of a transparent material. In some embodiments, the first container is formed of a red transparent material, the one or more rodents being unable to see through the red transparent material.

  • Patent number: 9308306
Abstract: An optical blood monitoring system and corresponding method avoid the need to obtain a precise intensity value of the light impinging upon the measured blood layer during the analysis. The system is operated to determine at least two optical measurements through blood layers of different thickness but otherwise substantially identical systems. Due to the equivalence of the systems, the two measurements can be compared so that the bulk extinction coefficient of the blood can be calculated based only on the known blood layer thicknesses and the two measurements. Reliable measurements of various blood parameters can thereby be determined without certain calibration steps.

  • Patent number: 9297136
Abstract: This invention relates to an inflatable dam assembly. The assembly includes a combined inflation, sealing and anchoring arrangement for a self-supporting dam. The inflatable dam assembly has an inflatable membrane and structure for inflating the membrane. An anchoring element operably engages with the inflatable membrane. A duct houses the anchoring element and provides at least a part of said membrane. The duct includes retaining structure configured to retain the anchoring element within the duct. In use, the anchoring element is moveable relative to the duct in a first direction towards the retaining means and in a second direction away from the retaining structure.

  • Publication number: 20140369759
Abstract: This invention relates to an inflatable dam assembly. In particular, this invention relates to a combined inflation, sealing and anchoring arrangement for a self-supporting dam for protecting buildings and property from rising flood water. An inflatable dam assembly comprises an inflatable membrane; means for inflating said membrane; an anchoring element operably engaged with the inflatable membrane; and a duct for housing the anchoring element and at least a part of said membrane, the duct comprising retaining means configured to retain the anchoring element within the duct, wherein, in use, the anchoring element is moveable relative to the duct in a first direction towards the retaining means and in a second direction away from the retaining means.

  • Publication number: 20080177891
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and system of allowing the user-defined code to be written in such a way as to be independent on the underlying transport yet still send and receive information via transport-specific artifacts. As such, a user may not be required to develop unique code for each different transport. A developer may set user-defined transport-agnostic properties and associated values without concerning an underlying transport. A deployer will provide an external mapping of those user-defined transport-agnostic properties to one or more specific transports which are to be supported. The system may allow new or different transports to be supported by the user-defined code without requiring the developer to change the user-defined code. Only the mapping information decoupled from the user-defined properties may need to be changed for different transports.

  • Patent number: 6633909
Abstract: A method for a guaranteeing a network manager discovers SNMP agents on a communications network. Each SNMP agent transmits a trap to the network manager. The trap contains the network manager's IP address and the SNMP agent's identifying information, including its IP address. When the trap is received at the network manager, it is parsed for the agent identifying information, which is compared against a list of previously identified/discovered agents. If the agent identifying information is not found, i.e., if the agent is a newly discovered agent, the network manager adds the agent to the list of discovered agents. The agent is then registered/stored in the discovered agents file. When the trap does not include sufficient identifying information, the network manager sends a query to the agent to extract additional identifying information. The system manager is thus able to discover all connected agents without broadcasting a query message.
