  • Patent number: 8020338
Abstract: A surface floating fishing lure including a forwards facing concave surface located at the water line, designed to scoop, redirect, and “spit” water into the air to subsequently splash unto the surface of the water when the fishing lure is tugged sharply, whereby a surface disturbance is created to attract fish hiding under cover of lily pads and other floating weeds or debris. This fishing lure shall include at least one fish hook rigged to be weedless, containing a flexible member deflecting weeds and debris away from each barbed point, a forwards facing concaved surface oriented in a manner predetermined to be suitable to redirect and splash a spray of water across the water surface, a floating body, a fish line connecting means at the forwards end of said fishing lure, and may, in some embodiments, further include at least a portion of said floating body in the form of a soft polymer flexible body in a shape resembling natural fish prey such as worms, frogs, minnows, centipedes, and etc.

  • Patent number: 8000068
Abstract: During an ESD event, an ESD current flows from a ground node of a first ESD protection circuit and out of an integrated circuit to a terminal of a package that houses the integrated circuit. To improve ESD performance, a second ESD protection circuit is provided. A diode of the second ESD protection circuit is coupled between the ground node and the body of an input transistor of a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA). If the voltage on the ground node changes quickly during an ESD event (for example, due to a current spike flowing across a wire bond), then the diode charges the body of the transistor, thereby preventing a large gate-to-body voltage from developing across transistor. In some embodiments, another ground bond pad is provided and the second ESD protection circuit includes other diodes that charge or discharge other nodes during the ESD event to prevent transistor damage.

  • Patent number: 7952633
Abstract: A method and apparatus for propagating charge through a sensor and implementation thereof is provided. The method and apparatus may be used to inspect specimens, the sensor operating to advance an accumulated charge between gates of the TDI sensor. The design implementation provides a set of values representing a plurality of out of phase signals, such as sinusoidal or trapezoidal signals. These out of phase signals are converted and transmitted to the sensor. The converted signals cause the sensor to transfer charges in the sensor toward an end of the sensor. Aspects such as feed through correction and correction of nonlinearities are addressed.

  • Publication number: 20110060572
Abstract: An example system includes interconnected modeling modules that share knowledge to create a unified earth model dynamically representing a subsurface site. The system models and may simulate subsurface operations associated with, for example: hydrocarbon production and stimulation, natural gas storage, carbon capture and storage, aquifer maintenance, geothermal energy production, and in-situ leachable ore processing. The system integrates a reporting module, and also an economic module to evaluate cost versus benefit of each subsurface operation. A related example method for performing subsurface engineering includes generating a model of a subsurface site including a geological horizon, obtaining an offset relative to the geological horizon, and locating an operation based on the offset. When field data update the model in real time, positions of 3D objects and 3D surfaces are dynamically updated in the model, including the positions of the modeled operations.

  • Publication number: 20100314571
Abstract: A flapper base provides a flapper base body with a hinge portion unitarily formed thereupon and a flapper seat surface formed within the flowbore of the body. The flapper base may be formed from a single section of tubular metallic stock. In a method of forming a base, the stock is gripped by a rotary clamp, and a five-axis milling machine is used to cut away portions of the stock section and to form the seat surface.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods of tracking one or more anatomical features of a patient are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of tracking anatomical features of a patient includes introducing a first implantable magnetic source into a patient's body, fixedly securing the magnetic source to a first anatomical feature, and monitoring the magnetic field generated by the magnetic source with a magnetic sensing system positioned outside the patient's body in order to track a position of the magnetic source. In another embodiment, a method of tracking anatomical features of a patient includes introducing a first implantable magnetic sensor into a patient's body, fixedly securing the sensor to a first anatomical feature of the patient, and monitoring a strength of a magnetic field generated by a magnetic source positioned outside the patient's body with the sensor in order to track a position of the sensor relative to the magnetic source.

  • Patent number: 7762335
Abstract: A system is provided for switching between redundant control systems for a subsurface safety valve (SSV) while being able to isolate the closure spring from hydrostatic pressure in the control line of the system that is not being used. There are two control lines that connect to discrete operating pistons that are both coupled to the flow tube. Each operating piston is connected to a control rod with the control rods terminating near opposed ends of a pivoting member. Pushing down on one rod pushes up on the other rod so that the other rod is held supported and the hydrostatic pressure in its associated control line doesn't affect the force needed by the closure spring to close the SSV. Releasing control line pressure puts the system in neutral to allow either of the systems to be reselected.
