  • Patent number: 8171930
Abstract: An inhaler has an air inlet port and an entry passage extending from the air inlet port to a contact chamber inlet port, a contact chamber and an inhaler air outlet port. The contact chamber has first and second opposed ends, a sidewall extending between the first and second opposed ends that in cross section is curved, the second opposed end having an opening in air flow communication with a dosage chamber and a contact chamber outlet port. The contact chamber inlet port is provided in the sidewall and faces a portion of the sidewall opposed to contact chamber inlet port. The contact chamber has a cross sectional area that is greater than the cross sectional area of the entry passage.

  • Publication number: 20090221910
Abstract: A prostate gland location and stabilization device comprising an elongate cylinder, sized to fit in the anal canal of a user, and having either a narrowing, or a bend (in the range from 20 to 60 degrees) located at or towards the axial mid-region of the cylinder. The cylinder has a heterogeneous internal structure arranged to define landmarks detectable by X-ray or magnetic resonance imaging. Additional features include an essentially flat handle, an internal gas channel and contrast markers. In some variants of the device, the heterogeneous structure comprises air-filled pockets. The invention also provides a method of locating the prostate gland of a patient using the device.

  • Patent number: 6234169
Abstract: An inhaler for use by an individual to inhale a particulate medicament from a reservoir comprises a chamber having a first end connectable to the reservoir to be in air flow communication therewith, a second end for delivering the medicament to the individual upon inhalation and a conduit defining an air flow path extending between the first end and the second end; and, an orifice in the chamber between the first end and the second end, the orifice utilizing the Coanda Effect when the reservoir is in air flow communication with the chamber and upon inhalation by the individual to draw medicament from the reservoir into the air flow path.
