Abstract: An improved price display system for a multi-level merchandising machine in which the prices of articles at the respective levels are electronically displayed individually at locations immediately adjacent to the levels. Both the prices and the displays can be changed in a rapid and expeditious manner from a station within the machine cabinet. In addition, both the mode of operation and the compartment size of a level can be displayed and changed. The system may be provided with a timer for automatically changing all prices at a predetermined time. The system employs a small number of conductors to control a large number of displays.

Abstract: A video jukebox responsive to the deposit of money and to the actuation of a selection system for activating a phonograph to play a record for a first price and for activating that one of a pair of video tape players which is closest to a selected audio-video recording for a second price.

Abstract: A cold drink vendor in which a circuit employing a programmed microcomputer controls the drink dispensing procedures and can be easily set to vary drink size, amount of ice to be dispensed, carbonation levels of each selection and the mix of the syrup and water for each selection. The circuit is based on a constant flow rate variable time method of dispensing the beverage. Initially, switch banks set by a service person are interrogated to determine the size of the drink and amount of ice to be dispensed, and the time cycle to dispense the drink is adjusted accordingly. Upon the establishment of credit and the actuation of a selection switch, additional switchbanks are interrogated to determine whether the beverage selected is high carbonated, low carbonated or non-carbonated, and to determine when to start the corresponding syrup pump, in accordance with the syrup viscosity, and the drink is dispensed.

Abstract: A disco lamp controller for a coin-operated phonograph in which a signal derived from the audio amplifier signal of the phonograph is applied to the trigger input of an astable multivibrator the output of which is applied to a register the outputs of which cause lamps sequentially to light in time to the beat of the music being played. In the absence of the audio signal the lamps light at a constant frequency.

Abstract: Electronic apparatus for recording the number of times each selection offered by a vending machine is chosen by customers and for displaying such information sequentially in either ascending or descending order.
