    Abstract: An improved number matching game is provided. The game includes a matching game with multiple number sets. A player can win standard Keno paytable awards in addition to relatively large awards. A player's initial set has a minimum size requirement for the player to be eligible for the relatively large award. The gaming machine provides supplemental numbers to the player if the player does not select the minimum quantity of numbers. Any supplemental numbers created for the player cannot be used towards the Keno paytable awards. In one embodiment, odds of winning the relatively large awards are kept proportionate with the player's wager level.

In one embodiment, the amount of the player's wager is a function of the number of spots the player selects. For example, an additional credit may be automatically wagered for each spot selected over a predefined threshold. In addition, the award provided to the player may be less than the amount wagered.

The player is enabled to replace one or more of their provided cards with new cards and based on the player's cards and the predetermined game outcome, the gaming device determines for each generated competitor which playing cards to replace and the new cards provided.     Abstract: A gaming device having a poker game including at least one card in addition to a conventional fifty-two card deck which has a negative impact on the hand held by the player. In one embodiment, the negative impact card is not considered when determining if a winning combination exists. Additional embodiments include an inability to discard the negative impact card requiring the player to play for a winning combination among four, rather than five, cards. In an alternative embodiment, the player must decide whether to discard a card without knowing if it is a positive or negative impact card. Whether the card is a positive or negative impact card is not revealed to the player until after the first draw. The negative impact card can be used in all poker games and other card games where the player has a limited number of cards from which to determine a win.
