    Abstract: A method of producing a support article for part of the human body, in particular the back, comprises the steps of obtaining an array of electronically encoded points defined in 3D corresponding to points on a surface of the body part utilizing a non-contact 3D digitiser. The array of points are converted into data readable by a computer aided manufacturing device. The data is adjusted to alter the surface prior to forming the article. The support article is formed incorporating the surface from the adjusted data using the computer aided manufacturing device.
