  • Patent number: 11752337
Abstract: Real time mirroring of dominant brain frequencies through the use of two types of stimuli is provided. Through devices and methods that simultaneously look for asymmetries and in real time, one can create real time variable sequences of acoustic and electric stimuli, and then one can effectively and efficiently support the brain to balance its activity between corresponding right and left lobes without one's mindful attention.

    Assignee: Brain State Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Lee Gerdes, Gillan Smith, Russell Loucks, Paul Hastings, Sonya Parker Crittenden
  • Patent number: 11655815
Abstract: A semi-rigid stator is provided for a helical gear device. The stator includes a stack of rigid rings, a deformable layer, and a rigid housing. Each of the rigid rings has a central opening and an exterior surface. The rigid rings are aligned along a common centerline and rotated slightly relative to each other such that the stack of rigid rings forms a helically convoluted chamber. Each of the rigid rings is secured within the rigid stator housing by the deformable layer disposed between the exterior surface of each of the rigid rings and the rigid housing. The deformable layer bonds the rigid rings together as the ring stack and permits movement of the rigid rings relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 10029067
Abstract: Exposure to stressors may be associated with the production of asymmetry in brain waves and can significantly affect a person's overall degree of wellbeing and conversely, asymmetry may influence a person's experience of stress. Through devices and methods that simultaneously look for asymmetries and in real time, one can create real time variable sequences of acoustical stimuli, and then one can effectively and efficiently support the brain to balance its activity between corresponding right and left lobes without one's mindful attention. Additionally various devices and methods can be used to identify condition states, including stress state conditions.

  • Patent number: 8249699
Abstract: A method for affecting balanced brain functioning with relational ambient sound is disclosed. During the process of balancing the brain's activity, an ambient sound is played for the subject to hear. The subject's brain develops a relationship between the process of bringing the brain to a balanced state and the ambient sound. As a result of this relationship, balanced brain functioning may then be affected by exposing the subject to that same ambient sound.

  • Publication number: 20070185533
Abstract: An improved method for conditioning the brain for optimal cognitive functioning based on the use of neurofeedback. Using an EEG, a subject's brain activity is continually analyzed. A neurofeedback program is established for the subject on an automated individualized basis, based on the immediate brain activity and the understanding of optimized cognitive functioning. The subject is then exposed to sound waves at frequencies sufficient to alter brain activity from the immediate brain state when that brain state is not optimized, to a brain state that is more conducive to being optimized for cognitive functioning.
