  • Publication number: 20120290291
Abstract: A mobile computing device that operates a method that processes handwritten user input for character matching and predictive word matching. A user inputs handwritten input on a touch-sensitive display using, for example, a stylus. The method determines and displays a set of candidate character matches for the handwritten input. The user then selects a character from the candidate character matches. The method determines and displays a set of candidate predicted word matches based on the user selected character match. The user can then select to input a desired candidate predicted word match.

  • Publication number: 20120290287
Abstract: A method and mobile device are provided for inputting text. In one implementation, a method is provided for associating a first language with a first text input apparatus of the mobile device. The method further associates a second language, different from the first language, with a second text input apparatus of the mobile device. The method also enables text input from the first text input apparatus in the first language and from the second text input apparatus in the second language.

  • Patent number: 6450833
Abstract: A trailer connector to which a conventional connector from a tractor can be attached includes an electrical housing assembly and a lid and connector assembly. The electrical housing assembly includes a non-conductive housing which is mounted to the trailer and a plurality of conductive studs, a plurality of conductive terminals, and a non-conductive cap mounted within the housing. The cap has a plurality of passageways provided therein. Each terminal has a first end connected to a respective one of the studs and a second end which is in communication with a respective one of the passageways through the cap. A conventional wiring harness is attached to the studs. The lid and connector assembly includes a lid portion which is attached to the housing and a connector portion which is capable of being connected to and removed from the lid portion. The connector portion includes a plurality of pins which extend therethrough and interface with the cap.

  • Patent number: 6237831
Abstract: A disposable solder receiving capsule for a hand held vacuum solder extracting desoldering tool is formed of an outer tube which is closed at one end by a porous filter and has an opening at its opposite end, and a hollow solder collection chamber part, having a tubular member with an open end and which is closed with respect to the passage of solder therethrough at an opposite end, forming a solder receiving space within it. The solder collection chamber part is concentrically positioned within the outer tube with an air plenum disposed between the closed end of the chamber part and the filter and with at least one air channel extending the length of solder collection part for providing a path for gases entering the open end of the outer tube to the plenum and the filter that is separated from the solder receiving space. For facilitating solder reclamation, the capsule can be formed entirely of materials which are shape-sustaining when exposed to a temperature of 400° F.

  • Patent number: 6202694
Abstract: A hydraulic power steering gear (10) comprises first and second relatively rotatable valve members (40 and 42). The first valve member (40) has a radially extending first passage (64) and a second valve member (42) partially encircling the first valve member. The second valve member (42) has a cam surface (184) facing radially inward. The first and second valve members (40 and 42) are rotatable relative to one another to selectively port hydraulic fluid. A ring member (160) is fixedly attached to the first valve member (40). The ring member (160) has a radially extending first bore (186) radially aligned with the first passage (64). A detent member (250) acts between the first and second valve members (40 and 42). The detent member (250) is disposed in the cam surface (184) in the neutral condition to provide a physically perceptible indication to a driver of the vehicle of operation of the steering gear (10) between the neutral condition and the actuated condition.

  • Patent number: 4082865
Abstract: An apparatus for chemically vapor-depositing a material onto surfaces of a plurality of substrates within a reaction chamber comprises means positioned within the chamber for supporting the substrates in a stack-like relationship wherein the surfaces are substantially parallel to each other and are separated by spacings, and a plurality of gas nozzles connected to a source of gas and positioned within the chamber so that the flow of gas therefrom is directed, respectively, into the spacings between the surfaces. A method of utilizing this apparatus comprises rotating the substrates while moving the nozzles back and forth in an arc, so that the flow of gas therefrom is directed into the spacings at different angles. Uniform deposition of the material onto the substrates is further improved by maintaining the pressure of the gas within the chamber between about 1 and 100 Torr.
