  • Patent number: 10065197
Abstract: A hydraulic particle separator is described. The particle separator comprises a main body having a top, a bottom, and a wall enclosing an interior cavity. At least one feed port is disposed on the top of the main body to introduce crude particle mixtures. A partition disposed within the cavity separates the cavity into a lower chamber and an upper chamber. The partition has at least one orifice for fluidic communication between the upper chamber and lower chamber. One or more grooves extend vertically along the interior surface of the wall. At least one tangential flow inlet port is disposed along the wall of the upper chamber above the partition.

  • Publication number: 20180015479
Abstract: An innovative compact high efficiency hydraulic particle separator is disclosed. Featured embodiments of the innovative separator comprise a cylindrical main body having an upper chamber and a lower chamber separated by a partition. A liquid fluid flow upwelling through the partition from the lower chamber is caused to mix with tangential jet of fluid flowing introduced above the partition in the upper chamber produces a spiral flow within the upper chamber and flows upward to the top of the apparatus. Particle mixtures containing low density and high specific gravity particles and other solids are introduced into the upper chamber are immediately contacted by the upward spiral flow, where low-density particles are immediately entrained in the spiral flow and separated from the high-density particles, swept upward and exit the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9636275
Abstract: Apparatuses, kits and methods useful in the storage and delivery of nutritional compositions and other fluids are described. In a general embodiment, an integrated storage and delivery system for nutritional compositions comprises a container defining a chamber, a finish, and a penetrable seal. The finish defines an opening and the penetrable seal separating the chamber from an external environment. A spike assembly is attached to the container. The spike assembly including a cap and a spike. The cap is engaged with the finish of the container and the spike defines a projection having a distal end defining a second opening. The projection is moveable between a first position in which the distal end is adjacent a first side of the penetrable seal and a second position in which the distal end is adjacent a second side of the penetrable seal.
