Patent number: 11368291Abstract: An interface, through which functionality of a cloud computing infrastructure can be accessed, can create defined endpoints through which such an interface is accessed, with such defined endpoints limiting the functionality accessible through the interface to only allowed functions. An elevate function can, through a secure key exchange protocol, receive appropriate assurances and can, in response, remove the functionality limitations of the endpoint, thereby enabling unfettered access to the cloud computing infrastructure. Such unrestricted access can be limited in duration, which duration can be established in advance, or agreed-upon through the key exchange mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2020Date of Patent: June 21, 2022Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Armando Moran Saavedra, Daniel Pravat, Filippo Seracini, Lee Holmes, Alexandru Naparu

Publication number: 20160105528Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of providing client-assisted fulfillment of a resource request. For instance, the resource request initially may be directed to a machine that stores the resource (i.e., a resource machine). A resource access agent may redirect the resource request to a client device for purposes of fulfillment. For example, the resource access agent may intercept the resource request before the resource request reaches the resource machine and/or before the resource machine takes action with respect to the resource request. Such client-assisted fulfillment may (or may not) be provided in a single sign-on environment. A single sign-on environment is an environment in which multiple distinct software systems are accessible to a user based on a single authentication of the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 8, 2014Publication date: April 14, 2016Inventors: Lee Holmes, Manoj K. Ampalam, Jeffrey P. Snover

Patent number: 8910166Abstract: A workflow scripting system is described herein that combines the features of workflows and scripts by automatically translating between the two models. Using the system, a script author can create workflows on the fly using familiar scripting language, and a workflow author can use scripting steps to perform actions. Workflows run in this manner can be setup to execute in their own process to improve robustness or efficiency. Operations in an enterprise environment frequently take a long time and are subject to interruptions. By adding reliability concepts of workflows to a shell environment, users of the system can write scripts to address common needs of large-scale computing environments. Thus, the workflow scripting system blends the available resources provided by workflow and scripting environments to provide a host of powerful, advanced capabilities to IT personnel.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2011Date of Patent: December 9, 2014Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Miriam Rosenberg, Bruce G. Patent number: 8739250Abstract: An input port for a computer system may retain potentially authenticable requests for processing while removing other connection requests from an incoming queue or request pool. The input port may continue to receive new requests even during a denial of service attack, allowing potentially legitimate requests to be processed. In a typical embodiment, a first in, first out buffer may be used to receive and process connection requests. When the buffer is full, any request that comes from a device having a previous connection with the computer system may be retained for authentication, while removing requests that come from unknown devices. Some embodiments may retain a list of known devices associated with administrators or other known users, and the list may be updated as those users are authenticated.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2011Date of Patent: May 27, 2014Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Lee Holmes, Hitesh Raigandhi, Nathan Burkhart, David B. Cross, Manoj K. Ampalam

Publication number: 20100028849Abstract: A method for processing tissue to produce a devitalized acellular matrix for transplantation comprises soaking the tissue in a first processing solution having a pH below 7 to reduce protease activity, periodically infusing ozone into the first processing solution to devitalize the tissue and reduce bioburden, and soaking the tissue in a second processing solution to remove cellular debris. The present invention also includes a system for processing the tissue. The devitalized acellular matrix acts as a scaffold for cellular ingrowth when transplanted into a recipient to form new tissue.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2007Publication date: February 4, 2010Inventors: Nancy Jane Shelby, Kristin Leigh Fitzpatrick, Darrel Lee Holmes

Patent number: 7377842Abstract: A method apparatus for removing a casing, particularly a casing with a clip end embedded in the product, is disclosed where the clipped end is clamped and gas is injected into this end to blow out the clip and casing end while the clamped portion prevents the entire casing from being inflated. The air or gas, such as HEPA filtered air, is injected into the product with a needle, for instance, to balloon out the casing in the clamped area to free the previously embedded clip. The clip is then gripped, certain cuts are made in the casing, and the casing is pulled from the product. An injector such as a needle is inserted into the end portion of the product and pressurized gas, such as HEPA filtered air, is injected into the end portion. The injection of the gas causes the casing to balloon out from the product thereby freeing the previously embedded clip. The freed clip is then gripped while the casing is then cut for removal.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2003Date of Patent: May 27, 2008Assignee: Kraft Foods Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Cory J. Painter, Terry Lee Holmes

Patent number: 4057266Abstract: An elongated bar is mounted on a trailer tongue for longitudinal sliding and lateral pivoting movement relative thereto, the forward end of the bar providing releasable engagement with a trailer hitch ball component on a tow vehicle. In one embodiment the forward end of the bar has a centering notch arranged to engage the stem of the hitch ball, the bar underlying the companion hitch socket component on the trailer tongue. In another embodiment the forward end of the bar is provided with the socket component of a trailer hitch for engagement with the companion ball component on a tow vehicle. The rearward end of the bar is connected to a pair of restraining chains or rods which are connected to laterally spaced terminals on the tongue, such that the chains or rods limit the rearward, forward and lateral movement of the bar.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1976Date of Patent: November 8, 1977Inventors: Lee Holmes Duncan, Lee Harold Duncan
