  • Patent number: 6496372
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electronic assembly that includes an integrated circuit package, a heat sink, and a fastener which connects the heat sink to the integrated circuit package to cool the integrated circuit package. The fastener includes a stem that extends through the heat sink and the integrated circuit package. The fastener further includes a clamp that is connected to one end of the stem and a spring head that is connected to an opposing end of the stem. The spring head includes a first biasing member that extends around the longitudinal axis of the stem to compress the heat sink and the integrated circuit package against the clamp in order to reduce the thermal impedance between the heat sink and the integrated circuit package.

  • Patent number: 5980791
Abstract: A method for forming a molded-in lifter for supporting a fabric liner of a flexible magnetic recording disc so that the disc is cleaned by rotation of the disc with respect to the liner when the disc is housed within a cartridge. The lifter is a raised rib that has a controlled height typically provided by deforming a molded-in rib to the desired height. The cartridge may also include a recess in the shell opposite the rib to receive the rib and prevent or reduce compression of the media if the cartridge is compressed.

  • Patent number: 5748419
Abstract: A write protect mechanism includes an indicator element configured for movement within a channel to indicate a write condition and a write protect condition of a data storage diskette. The indicator element can be integrally molded with the diskette housing. The indicator element is disengaged from the housing, rotated approximately ninety degrees, and reinserted in the channel prior to closing the diskette. The diskette permanently retains the indicator element within the channel. The indicator element may include spring members for exerting a bias against structures formed along side walls of the channel during movement. The spring members may include indentations for engaging the structures formed on the side walls. The structures are aligned with positions indicating either the write condition or write protect condition of the diskette.
