Abstract: A system and method for efficiently determining a diagnostic protocol used by a vehicle under service and instantiating service appropriately. The diagnostic protocol is checked for expected electrical behaviors exhibited at the pins of a diagnostic port of a vehicle. If the expected behaviors are observed, a first protocol is designated for use. If the expected behaviors are not observed, other protocols are test for appropriate designation.

Abstract: A method and system for diagnostic service of a vehicle with an internal combustion engine based upon a volumetric efficiency calculation of the engine. The volumetric efficiency calculation is based upon mass airflow data from a mass airflow sensor. Volumetric efficiency values below a threshold value may be related to a number of operating conditions of the engine. A guided service operation may include instructions for a user to perform service operations to improve operating conditions of the vehicle.

Abstract: A method for acquiring diagnostic data from a vehicle communication interface and providing the data to a user of a diagnostic tool as an itemized list. The diagnostic data comprises mixed types, such as diagnostic trouble codes and parameter identifiers. The user may utilize the diagnostic tool to filter or sort the diagnostic data according to elements associated with each entry of diagnostic data in an itemized list.

Abstract: A connection and a method of making a connection between an outer member and one or more inner structural members of a structure such as a building, the connection having a compression strut having an inner portion and an outer portion, the inner portion being supported by one of the one or more inner structural members, the outer portion being in contact with the outer member, a connector plate engaging the compression strut and the outer member and one or more tension fasteners attaching the connector plate to one or more of the one or more inner structural members.
